The oldest books I have are from 1715. I also have a Bible from 1726. The print is still readable and the paper is heavier than any book I've recently purchased. My oldest hand-written item is from 1534 and it is written on vellum and still legible, albeit Latin. Books today have flimsy bindings and paper. I can't imagine many books lasting for hundreds of years. That's my opinion however!
Ironically, living in the Research Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Cary, NC) means some of the slowest choices available for home internet access. There are some places that can get AT&T Uverse here, but otherwise it is all DSL or Cable. I would definitely sign up for this access if I could get it. Then again, Time Warner cable has been buying legislators to pass laws restricting municipal broadband plans like the recent one in Wilson, NC.
I have experience with oversteer at VIR. Last time I missed the apex in turns 1-2, probably hit 125 on the straight leading up to it, and didn't brake nearly hard enough. Well my instructor was shouting "You're missing the apex" so I turned in just a touch more... I hadn't had any problems for two days until this very last session. I turned in too much and spun out in my C6 Corvette. Pretty exciting! Everyone should do at least a few days of performance driving and we'd all be safer drivers.
I went ahead and bought a new PS3 slim and kept my old PS3 with the 3.15 firmware on it. I also sent the FTC and state attorney general a complaint about this problem and a week ago the attorney general formally sent Sony a complaint letter. I seriously doubt anything will happen, but at least it made me feel better. For all the moaning about the linux support removal, I'm sure hardly anybody did anything about it except complain on message boards.
Maybe I can sell the USAF my old PS3.
and without a doubt they all hate it. A couple have master's degrees and for that they get an extra $1000/per year. They work practically all day into the evening grading papers, coming up with lesson plans, meeting with parents, etc. One friend who stopped teaching just couldn't afford to do it anymore, because she was paying for her own teaching and students' school supplies out of her paycheck, which she said was around $1000 per year. I know two other teachers who have quit as well, one saying how she ended up just being a babysitter to problem children.
Good for them for selling their lesson plans! I know if and when I have children, the teachers will be well funded, I'll have none of this BS about teachers paying for the kids with loser parents. That's what those parents are, because if you can't afford $5/month for pencils and paper then WTF are you doing?
I can't believe it will have been 5 years in December since supporters chipped in to place an ad in the NY Times. I'd definitely help place another one if only to get my name in the paper again! I hear the NY Times needs the revenue (*cough* adblock *cough*).
I dropped TWC cable and got DirecTV HD once they added HD channels. See if you can get cable internet through Earthlink like I am doing... you still pay TWC, but you don't have to worry about their restrictions. Here if you wanted TWC cable internet it was $60/mon if you didn't want to also subscribe to their cable TV. Earthlink is $42/mon. It was an easy choice for me.
Does Google still offer satellite imagery of Mars in Google Earth? It was offered when it was Keyhole.
If you pay for Google Earth Plus you can choose the Mars database. If you had a previous subscription to Keyhole, they gave you the Plus version with a one year extension.
I see this complaint everytime a DVD-related article shows up.
Instead of purchasing a computer just to play DVDs, just buy a better DVD player that skips straight to the movie. I have had a Zenith DVB318 for almost a year that searches for the movie and jumps directly to it. If you are watching TV shows on DVD, however, it will sometimes jump to a different episode.
If you jump to the DVD menu while playing a movie to change some options or move somewhere else, it may display the FBI warning and whatnot. However, it will let you fast forward through them.
It also upconverts to HDTV resolution through component inputs. You will have to downgrade the firmware on newer units to this since they have bowed to the movie industry to disable this functionality.
After having knee surgery to remove torn cartilage, I continued to run for a couple years - like 10-15 miles/week. Knee start to hurt, so the doctor said to stop running and get a bike. After doing over 600 mi on the bike, knee really starts to hurt. Dr. says to get MRI... he says that I already have some arthritis (I'm mid 20s) and that maybe I can just bike slower...and his exact words were...

to the/etc/ssh/sshd_config. Also, if you want to make sure you get on from other places, and you don't run a web server, just use some common WWW ports.

Long live Cthulhu.

But can it also disable Cybermen?
Some areas in Raleigh can now get Uverse and I've been checking to see if I can cancel TWC. No luck yet.
...for ludicrous speed.
It's probably the DVB-318. It is very slick, plus it bypasses straight to the movie... No FBI warnings or whatever.

Agreed, I play it regularly over the internet using Hamachi vpn. Just use cheating AIs for a better contest. ...waiting for Supreme Commander...

So, I think I qualify.
Cool, I'll finally be able to get an ant with a laser without cheating. The spiders better watch out!
google's cache in case you missed it.
Great, now my robot insurance is going to raise rates.
