Well I'm 72 and I think that's old enough to play videogames. And would just like to say that I just finished Super Mario Bros on the DS and I didn't use a walkthrough!
They (google NoN-SeNS Pacman 1.6 with C sourcecode to get the original Courtillat pacman stuff) apparenmtly addressed an artificial MsPacman implementation. People should realize that Pacman is a particular implementation (pacman.zip in mame, the original Midway game) as is Ms Pacman (the mspacman rom in mame). IT DOES NO GOOD TO SOLVE A DERIVATIVE PACMAN OR MSPACMAN! We went through this in the original shannon 4x4 chess board which remained a curiosity until a real chess board with real chess moves (e.g. en passant capture) was used. Same with checkers. In this day and age there is no excuse to dumb down the game. It is my basically uninformed but strongly held opinion that the originals are the real thing. Solving a game that kindof looks like ms pacman should be discouraged. C'mon guys!
The authors state "In most of Pac-Man's sequels, most notably in Ms. Pac-Man, randomness was added to the movement of the ghosts." Anyone who has played MsPacman fully understands that while there is __some__ random behavior, the ghosts are most definitely deterministic. The aggressive red guy (Blinky) is very very different from the passive yellow guy (Clyde). Knowing this is necessary to play the game in an intelligent manner, if you can imagine such a thing. You can always go to MameWorld, get the 6502 source code and see for yourself!
No one has ever seen a dog either, they are seeing neurochemical effects that can be explained by nearby-dog theory. A subtle but basically stupid difference.
How many times do I have to tell you? The root problem behind all theses resource issues is the global population explosion. If you're a guilthead you can blame it on advanced societies but even if you were to tear them down, the popexp-driven resource consumption is only going to continue.
It is extremely unlikely that Po-210 killed Litveninko. It is in the oxygen family (Oxygen, Sulfur, Selenium, Tellurium, Polonium). No stable isotopes are known. There are two possibilities: Dose him enough to get chemical poisoning; and dose him with a radioactive sample that's hot enough to cause radiochemical poisoning. I really doubt if its the latter case. Any alpha emitter would do and there is no reason to choose Polonium. He would be extremely hot. This is notr consistenmt with styatements to the effect that "traces" of Po-210 were found. And as far as chemical poisoning with Po, Someone correct me but I really doubt if the chemical properties of Po make it a very good candidate for metabolic poisoning. My guess is that this is counterspy spin.
Bad news, folks. This is a standard PR release to hype up the chemists results. Thr problem with this work is simply that it has to be carried out at 500 to 1000 degrees. Do you really want to power your PDA with that? And besides: the conversion of propane etc to H2 and C is endothermic at 25 deg. This accounts for the 1000 deg microreactor.
What "we dont have the money" and "by the end of the year" means is "Its not my turf so I have no intention of doing that email stuff (whatever that is).'
Bad news, but its not very likely that drugs/bioid agents etc will be developed to reverse DNA methylation. That's a covalent bond to "sp3" carbon that's being formed and though the drug-induced de-methylation is concievable its not very likely.
The problem is that hydrogen is a _manufactured_ fuel. In this case it is to be made from magnesium which is produced by a process that requires immense amounts of electricity. SO all we do is lose some effiency.
For the record... It's not really "transparent aluminum" any more than glass is transparent silicon. "AlON" is aluminum oxide-nitride, an aluminum salt, just as glass is (roughly) a silicon salt. But it's still amazingly tough looking material.
I'm a prof at a major midwestern U who does AI work (in chemistry, not C.S. department). I've seen this happening for some time now. You get these incredibly bright geeks who start out in CS and then either drop out or change their majors. Why? I'm convinced it is because the CS major has a lot of really irrelevant requirements that turn these people off. Statistics is one (but only one) example. The fact is that modern CS & programming is a wonderfully exciting area: to put thirty year old hurdles in front of younguns is counterproductive. So we shouldn't be surprised that the supply of CS majors dries up. They have alternatives.
I've been teaching at the college level for many years. Recently it has become true that... 1. Textbooks are all the same. 2. They are outrageously expensive.
You lean like bandits on the megapublishers to lower prices, or... You write up your own notes.
Well, keep in mind that we have the legend of Noah and the flood on the one hand, and the fact that at about that time the Mediterranean broke through at Istanbul and filled up what is now the Black Sea.
Bad news, kiddies. First of all, two hundred thousand years is nothing when we're talking half-lives. Second, a glass "harder than concrete" means nothing when its got high level radiaoctivity embedded. Radiation induced crapout is inevitible.
About the best you can do is activated charcoal filters in the air supply. Perhaps zeolites. The stinkies are low molecular weight organics that are (usually) harmless but mighty offensive. You should be able to find air filtering outfits that deal with this issue.

Next time I get infected with TMV, I'll run right over to the laser lab.

The reason it looks like "junk" is because its been encrypted.

The intent behind the rate capping is presumably to stop the loyal citizens from downloading and viewing naughty videos.

Look around yourself! They disappeared because they were hunted down and killed.

The first terrorist "nuclear bomb" will be stolen plutonium or whatever together with high explosive to spread it around. A real mess.

I got a PhD in chemistry. Yah Yah Yah. Im a perfesser. Yah Yah Yah. Does Science TV have a chance? Get Real.

"To sanitize code": To render code impotent; To keep bad boys from diddling the system;
