Third party apps being non-Apple apps, not bundled apps or those that are also written by Apple. Seeing as how IE is so rooted in the OS, it cannot be excluded, and Outlook is Microsoft's own software, not to mention security swiss cheese from the beginning.
And they get their service through other providers much larger than they. This provider charges them to get the regular ol' bandwidth, thus raising costs for consumers. The purpose of net neutrality is to prevent all-out fucking greed from ruining the internet. You and your ISP will have to cough up in order to get decent service from other networks. Your cable company may advertise that it will give you full-speed access to the internet, but their service will be more expensive as a result. So the internet gets slowed down, customers cough up more money, and who gets it? The greedy assholes running the companies. I consider myself a pretty staunch capitalist, but I'm not so naive to think that this kind of thing wont fuck a market completely. Sometimes regulation is necessary and just.
It's not rubbish. Unless you don't ever drink it, you wont see much effect until you drink quite a bit. For instance, my mother very rarely drinks caffeinated soda, but she'll get some Dr. Pepper if she's driving late and it does the trick. Me...well, I drink a pretty good amount, but if I get enough, I can get the effect. I drank four cans of Full Throttle and three cans of Mountain Dew at a LAN party over the course of maybe 2 hours. I was hopping around in my seat.
Really? I know a lot of conservative bloggers who would love to get ahold of this mysterious funding source to pay their server bills. I'm sure a few major blogs get some dough under the table, but I don't doubt the same happens with prominent liberal blogs as well. Your accusations are nothing short of paranoid.
But why split their market? They've already got 8 million players in WoW. Most of those would be the type to play WoS, and would probably wind up abandoning one or the other to play a single MMO full time. If there is a World of Starcraft, it wont show up for several years. Blizzard will wait for WoW to get played out first.
And Apple has a choice in that...how? If they want to run a music store, they HAVE to have DRM to get the big labels and movie studios. There's no way around it. Why are people blaming Apple when it rests squarely on the shoulders of the RIAA and MPAA?
That was back before Jobs returned and got the company back on track. So the past 5 years are a very good indicator, because Jobs knows what he's doing, unlike several other past Apple CEOs.
Romney was never pro gay marriage. He's all for equal rights and allowing many (if not all) of the same tax/health/etc benefits as a married couple and opposes discrimination, but he's not for gay marriage and never said he was. He seems to be just a little right of the "Civil Unions, just don't call it marriage" camp.
At least this is one small step toward reforming the ridiculous patent system in this country. Yes, we need patents. They can be a good thing. However, when companies patent everything they can no matter how ridiculous or small, it's time to start fixing a broken system.
Accuracy, and not just at high speeds, but just regular, slow tracking, because almost every optical/laser mouse I've used had a problem. Track is slowly across the screen and watch the cursor jitter up and down, sometimes hopping backward a little. It seems all of the ubercool mice do this, so I'd like to know of one that doesn't, because I'd buy it right off.
So what happens when little company A works long and hard and creates a truly innovative and very useful piece of hardware (enough so that it would be worthy of a real patent), only to have huge company B rip it off, sell it for less, and squash company B? Or some little Joe write an awesome song, only to have another famous singer rip it off completely and completely squash little Joe? IP laws are getting ridiculous, but so is the idea of abolishing IP all together.
No no, it's the story where an undiscernable color erupts from the rapidly dissipating and uncoolable meteorite, then begins eating away at everything, turning it an ashy gray color.
Defender automatically removing stuff without the user knowing. That's just asking for problems. How long before there's a widespread outbreak of Defender deleting perfectly legitimate software?
I was pointing out that you couldn't do that with the latest version of Vista as it would start screwing you on the license. Way to blow it out of proportion. Save your frothing at the mouth for someone who cares.
I've moved my main hard drive around to several different Macs before without ever having a problem. Booted and ran just fine each time. Doesn't look like you could do the same with Vista.
The thing is, Apple's implementation of Widgets is very well done. 10.5 is going to improve it with better memory management and the easy creation of widgets from any section of a webpage. The MS sidebar is a clunky and cumbersome implementation, probably because MS can't design a really good user interface to save their lives.
I'd love to hear Jason Jones spit that one out on accident. "Yeah, we talked all about full publishing rights when MS bought us, but dammit, Gates' cock tastes so good that we figured we'd only put Halo 2 PC out for Vista! Gates said he needed a flagship game to convince gamers to upgrade to his lackluster new OS, and we're more than happy to suck away! Nevermind the Mac port too, because we don't give a shit about screwing over our earliest, most loyal fans!"

Yeah, becasue the average user will certainly have a cluster of XServe RAIDs running XSAN over fiber channel.

Too true. Partnering up with Microsoft means that, almost without fail, you WILL get screwed by them. That's just how Microsoft does business.

Yeah, until the MPAA and RIAA buy a micronation of their own, then declare war on The Pirate Bay and blast the shit out of their platform.

Congratulations, you found the Old Testament. Now try reading the New Testament, where much of this is nullified by Jesus.
Hey, you gotta remember the old MS slogan: The software isn't done until Lotus wont run!
Good news, everyone! Futurama's coming back!

Cats and dogs are living with each other.
Mass hysteria!

Apple never claimed to have invented encrypted binaries. God I hate ignorant tools.
