The CSU is the Christian _Social_ Union. They don't have anything to do with socialism or communism other than fighting it as hard as they can. They are Germanys Republicans.
Come to think of it they are not very social either...
See, the Nazis weren't aliens visiting germany between 1933 and 1945. They were part of this country before and after and the old establishment of the Kaiserreich as well as other powers (economy) supported them. So the german forces participated quite willingly in most of the sick stuff. Maybe Hitler was a bad military leader, but most of the generals supported his ideas as long they thought they could win the war.
could have actually won the Eastern Front
Never. Ever. The Soviet Union just had too many people and resources.
There were a lot of resources wasted on the Death Camps and other essentially political/sociological obsessions
Yeah, right. Those obsessions were what made the system tick. Without those: No Nazis. No WWII.
because [Apple] wouldn't allow clones, and IBM did
Uhm, no, IBM didn't allow clones. In fact they tried to stop them but weren't able to do so. IIRC Compaq reverse engineered the IBM PC BIOS. In that pre-DMCA era IBM lost the process that followed.
What you don't see is VA Linux suing people or companies while refusing to show what they are suing over.
But what if some day VA Linux is owned by someone like Canopy? On the stock market such a thing can happen fast. Caldera once was a real nice, fluffy buddy too.
Then you would learn that the patent system and todays copyright legislation, as are a problem. Not who owns what. Because this can (and will) change. Wasn't that one of the reasons to make the GPL?
Thanks a lot. This was agood one. But until the lame last season I pretty much liked DS9. But generally the giving their best to ruin it. After Voayger (of which I didn't see that many eps anyway) I thought it couldn't get worse. God, how naive.
BTW: Made me think and come up with another one: George Lucas is to Star Wars as George Lucas is to Star Wars.
Am I the only one who would be extremely suspicious when seeing an mp3 that is zipped or stuffed? As this totally doesn't make sense I already would anticipate an exploit of some sort.
Come again? What inventory? The only thing you could do at Gateway Stores was ordering your PC anyway. They only had some sample PCs to show off. Then again: Since when do have analysts the slightest clue about what they are talking...
Two years later, Marlin Eller, a former Microsoft programmer who was part of the PenWindows project, wrote in "Barbarians Led by Bill Gates" (Owl Books) that the intent of the PenWindows project had been primarily to undermine Go.
In the same book he describes how they put together a presentation for their PenWindows for a computer fair (Comdex?) to show that they could do the same stuff as Go. When in fact they had absolutely nothing. It was all smoke and mirrors.
I always remember that story when watching another cool Longhorn presentation. And I wish others would too, especially journalists...
In fact, it would only make it worse - Opensource it and you will have serious issues with version control and compatibility.
What?? I really don't get how something so baseless can get modded up:(
As it is, getting enterprise level applications running together in Java is not an easy task - bring in more forks and incompatibility and you will kill the language.
Yeah, right. Just as that finnish hobbyist hack called Linux is not usable at all for the enterprise. That Linus guy never should have open sourced it...

Hmmm, I should contact them. Maybe they are interested in my bridge selling business too ...
I wanted to write something really funny about the title of the new movie being:
Crisis on Infinite Enterprises
Then I remembered that one TNG ep where they did that. So instead I'll just go to bed now :)

"Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme" FFS. Which are spices used for contraception and abortion.
The point could be to get new theater prints from the scans. Or material for the new digital projectors.
Sure, no problem: MOL (Mac On Linux)

Germany: 10^6=million, 10^9=milliarde,10^12=billion and so forth. A lot of people have trouble with this when translating business news from the US :)

Whaaat?? You can't just drop something like that and don't explain to me how! :-D
For fuck sake we don't have to refute that crap over and over again. Try Google. Or just read the threads on /. from June 24 2003.
Where did Apple imply that?
Slashdot | Apple Hardware VP Defends Benchmarks
spl is an idiot and known Mac community troll. Proof for the idiot part can be found here.
Oh, and here is what Luxology had to say benchmarkwise ...

So what? Darl will sue anyhow.
Maybe the "E" doesn't stand for "Extreme", but "Estimated"?
(Oh, the good feeling to get modded -10 for an insider joke)
But - at least in US - they won't get money for the comp. So if Apples screen reader comes for free, a Mac would be cheaper.
Using Safaris Webkit I can build my own browser :)
There's even a window you can open with all the possible buttons that you can drag'n drop onto where you want them on thr browser.
This sounds very Mac OS Xish.
