Some people train the Automatic Updates service to ask before it installs. Not to mention the fact that AU seems to check for updates only every two weeks or so...
Another thing XMMS needs is a new version: 2.0. Even though I've switched to Rhythmbox for it's music library and upcoming iPod support, it would be nice if XMMS had some of these features too.
As mobile weapon against flat-sheared noise Emissionssuender a December duck water pistol worked satisfactorily, particularly since the classical running wart pilot always drives with lowered disk. A well cooled splash is particularly effective in the ear of the Mobilproleten . Then however a really potent automobile (see following picture) for the any escape before the Berzerker is recommended.
Are they out of their heads? Their very minds must be tarnished by FICTION!
Switching to Linux would send their TCO Skyrocketing! Does anyone think that TAX DOLLARS should be flushed by wasting money on LINUX?!
They need to Get the facts!
Whenever they show an advertisement for the channel (e.g. the bald person with the bird landing on top), they have a transition that looks like the end of an MSN commercial except in purple instead of blue.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is Sci-Fi Channel run by Microsoft? If so, it might make a good Sci-Fi movie...
Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software...
Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click Install or Yes to install the software.
While nothing actually works, except for the Mozilla-customized CSS, it is rather amusing that I can get it to the real Windows Update website without resorting to User-Agent Switcher.

I just got the (non-open source) FWD SJphone for Linux working behind my NAT.
One of the great features of FWD is you can call toll-free numbers in several countries for free, so I've been calling American Airlines's voice-recognition flight status system over and over again (DFW->Frankfurt at 8AM, Flight 73 arrival info).
The phone number for calling it from FWD is *18004337300, then 1, then 1.
First ever slashdotting of an airline reservation system?
I use FWD, but I haven't managed to get it to work on Linux yet.
I can't wait to pester the poor American Airlines flight information number from Linux!

I tried installing Picassa 1 on wine and it wouldn't install. I'll have to give it another try!

If you can't mod me nicely, don't mod me at all!
It's not netgear, it's NETGEAR!
Last I heard, SSIDs were case-sensitive.
P.S. I'm connected to The Sub-Etha Net, a WGR614v2 formerly known as NETGEAR.
Linspot was featured on slashdot. It does more or less what you want. It only runs on Mac OS X, but they are Beta-testing a Linux version.
And for those stuck on Windows, iPodLibrary does the same thing.

A Firefox optimized webpage renders perfectly in Pocket Internet Explorer (With fit to screen turned off).
Now why can't they do the same thing with mozilla.org?

Actually, with the exception of the QTVR, the PC version does run on Linux... You just have to do URL hacking.

(Ignore my sig, it's a paid promotion)
This would be perfect for running a Wi-Fi Bedouin.
An internal tuner is also not an option for a laptop.
I don't know about you, but I'd seriously consider buying one of these if only it suppoerted music streaming from Linux!

Can I send Groups invites to people?
Oh yes and I recently converted to EXT3. 'less /dev/hda2' is running now.

If you try to go to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/, it informs me that I need a Windows operating system to use Windows Update.
I think that option is coming in the security-enhanced Windows XP Service Pack 2 version of Internet Explorer.
It even groups taskbar buttons!
I sincerely hope that is unrelated to "O", the offical magazine of Oprah... (No, I don't read O)

I'm getting "Incorrect Password" errors on WinGaim 0.78

Lucent modems (such as that with a Thikpad T22) work pretty nicely. Look for the ltmodem driver, it claims to work on 2.6.
