Sounds like you're either buying true commercial grade equipment, or you're severely getting ripped off. Most consumer marine electronics now are IPX-7 rated (1M submersion). And only the highest end units come in over $1000. For $1600, you're nearly looking at an industrial grade PC based system.
Mod parent down for blatant troll.
P.S. Ob. Simpsons reference, a young Mr. Burns busting an atom smashing employee for having some atoms in his pocket. You can so steal atoms, as well as the various subatomic particles that compose them.
Yes, that would be what they are getting at. Out of one side of their mouth. The other side is saying down with commercialism. Personal enjoyment is one thing, but selling the dead guy's work down the river to turn a buck is wrong.
Since I just RTFA'd your link, I think you're taking it out of context. The example you give is of them suing because a company used bits of a Zappa tune in a commercial. No way in hell he woulda gone for something like that. I can't argue with her there. Poor FZ was probably rolling over in his grave about his song in a commercial.
Kawi has motors putting out a good bit more than 147hp now. More importantly, all the competitors are putting out more power. If it really was some sneaky ad ploy, they'd be pushing a current flagship product.
Damn right. She sounds like an interesting person for sure. If she made it over here, I'd have to buy her a round at bike night just to hear some stories.
Not to make excuses, but bombing the fsck out of Tokyo was massively demoralizing to the Japanese, especially after Hirohito said the Americans could not touch Tokyo. And was going to take more than just a few little bombs with medals on them. A real hit was called for, not just symbolism.
I remember usually not being allowed to stay up late enough for Miami Vice as a kid. Plenty of times we'd get detoured because a scene was shooting. It is kinda cool to recognize where they are and see how much (or how little) that spot has changed. It does kind of kill it to know that a chase is magically jumping 20 or more miles across town. That was even worse in Fast and Furious 2.
This has been done before. I know this is slashdot, but there must be motorsports geeks out there. Ever see the cameras on top of race cars? The have a clear membrane over the lens. The membrane is wound onto 2 spools, kinda like a tape. Then when the lens gets dirty, a motor turns the spools, and a fresh piece is moved in front of the lens.
This sounds like a vacation plan to me. How much would it be to transport my motorcycle to the Ukraine for a vacation? This story has it all, a good looking woman on a motorcycle, and plenty of wide open terrain to give the throttle a good twist.
If I remember right, US bills have a mylar/foil strip running thru them. You can see it when you hold them up to the light. It also contains a blacklight sensitive dye. If this guy is afraid that strip is being used to track him, he can just throw the gummint off by sending his money to me.
If that is the case could something similar to VMware/Virtual PC be used to handle the emulation of RAM and other PC resources without it hurting the host OS?
I don't know about you, but my car and my motorcycle can both tell if they're not running on high octane. High compression performance engines just won't run on low octane gas.
Maybe I'm a luser, but I leave my office assistant on. I would keep clippy if there were options to torture him under the "animate" menu. I'm amazed that nobody has made a flash game about inflicting pain on clippy. I changed mine to have a little animated Einstein standing around anytime I have to use a MS office program. When viewing a pr0n slideshow, it looks like Einstein is trying to sneak a peek every once in a while.

RTFA. He says he took it apart to explore feasability of custom anodizing mini's for his business. The sooner he figures that out, the better for him.
This problem extends far beyond country music stations. What about the oldies stations? They've been playing the same dozen songs on repeat all my life. The "light music" stations I get subjected to at work are just as bad. And don't get me started on ClearChannel rock stations. There's a reason I have 3 big binders of CDs in my car. Someday I need to build up that homebrew MP3 jukebox for the car.
Not to mention all the fun you had that time at band camp!

Flame me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that be de-regulation?
Buy one of those water-resistant laptops. Like a Toshiba Toughbook, etc.

A fusion reactor? I didn't think we had those going yet?

Mmmm, Borscht.....
And also, you've got a camera looking right at you while you do this.

*foom* That is the sound of a cycling reference flying over the heads of the average /.'er.

True, but if my car catches fire, it dosen't put a whole region at risk from radioactive fallout. Not quite apples to oranges we're comparing here.

I know I shouldn't be feeding the troll, but does that mean you're saying that you were stupid first?
