Is anyone going to force adherence to the standards? If company X registers a domain and serves content that cannot be displayed, will the domain be withdrawn? No. So what's the point of a dedicated domain?
Money...
Lets just be sensible and stick to subdomains as mentioned by an earlier poster, mobi.bbc.co.uk makes far more sense then bbc.mobi, but then of course, no-one makes tens of millions in the land-grab.
I do have a Sirius Radio in my truck; I only use it when I am on the road and in areas where there is poor coverage from FM stations. Other than that I listen to one of the two college radio stations or to the local Pacifica station.
The great thing about community radio stations:
1 - They don't play the same songs over and over and over and over and over and over.
I can actually set my clock by what commercial or song plays at what time on the
local muddy channel station
2 - Local events and news
Does your national station tell you about the blood drive this weekend or how the
local High School football team did?
3 - Call your local community radio station, ask them a question about anything and
ask them to present it to the listeners. By the end of the hour you will have an answer
Do that with your muddy channel station, if its not national, or on xyz car dealers list
of acceptable topics then you will never even hear a mention of it.
4 - I love it when the national stations broadcast the traffic report for a different city here
by accident and then tell you that they are your home town station.
It seams that you have to register with the government if you own a diesel truck and buy more that 50 pounds of fertilizer and fill your fuel tank on the same day.
Crap, I can't even even spread it in my pasture without somone in D.C. knowing what color the sh*t is.
Ohh well time to go buy another 1,000 rounds of 7.62x39 on the credit card again
I love messing with them.
---- Smile and look stupid and the government will love you...
I jut put Suse on 5 machines at a client site when 3 of theier machines got cooked by a lightning storm. They where running 98se and now they are running Suse.
A lot of the change over is education.
Show them / lend them a linux box
Then help them convert all of thier applications to run on linux
We took this clients third party foxpro for dos app and made it a web based app hosted it on one of the linux machines now they no longer need windows except for quick books which they are evaluating a few different solutions
They love the fact that they are no longer tied to MS.
Even better the "Guest Machine" is knoppix cd and has no HD
There will be no more operating systems on users machines...
You will boot flash memory Your machine will go to MS Your machine will then run what MS thinks you need Your machine will tell MS where you went and what you downloaded Your machine will tell the NSA where you went and what you downloaded Your machine will stop error when your isp has a hickup
Bought 21 machines for a client. Built the machines Bought 21 OEM CD's (i was the builder) None would activate MS - "The CD keys are for OEM your CD's are retail OEM" ME - "I just opened the packages so I know the cd's are not mixed up" MS - "You bought them from a pirate" CDW - ".... We will replace the CD's for you" MS - "please hold while I activate you windows"
mmm CDW was on the line with me and all of a sudden I was legal. mmm
It's called walking up to the person and wispering in thier ear
Can you imagine the heat sink and the fan?
You could peal the paint off the cubicle with that kind of heat and wind

RIAA is an association not a company. They represent the artists.
You don't like RIAA don't support the artists that they represent.
At the same time GO LIMEWIRE
Ex = Has been
Spert = Drip under pressure
Expert...
I just spoke with 5 experts and they agree in 2020 we will all have somthing called a teletype
You got that right,
I live in what the FCC calls a "Dead Zone".
All I get is static on the left half of the dial, and if I am lucky (weather conditions just right) I can tune in a station on the right half.

I was visited last night by the local sheriff.

This is like the Pinkslip you get from the power company when you dont get the bill paid on time.
Lets see, 15,000 should do it.
Then I can power a car off my laptop battery...
78 rpm ?
See wife, I told you there where worth money...
The winner is a commercial install not a home
is my third home...

Is not a poll, it's an opinion of 800 people.
A poll should be at least 100,000 people
800 is a fart in the wind with an error factor +/- 800
Warner also giving RIAA the digital finger
You mean to tell me they are still in buisiness?
Thats like the car dealer investigating if thier car caused the crash.

This is reauthorizing somthing that has been in place from 1978
They are just "formalizing" what they have been doing for 28 years
I say yes I will take yor survey.
Then I set the phone down next to somthing noisy like an air horn
or my fav next to my speakers and walk away.
I have had only one person there after 10 minutes.
When I asked him why he was still there, he said he needed a break and liked the music.
I took his 3 minute survey.
