    I agree that the average home user does not need 20TB for themselves but that's likely not the market they are looking to target. Most companies need backup and data storage. The average company should have Primary storage, backup storage +history copies, and off site copies. If the average user generates 50gb of data and you have a company of 500 people you are now needing at least 24tb in 3 different places..... Add in graphics or CAD users into this mix and storage grows fast, a medium sized company can have over 1 petabyte of storage very quickly. 20TB drives would really shrink the physical size of large storage arrays.

    What's wrong with asking the person what's wrong and determining priority based on situation not how much the person freaks out. I have known people to get stressed out and screaming about scratch, while other people like a faller I knew called on the cb radio calm as can be that he hates to bug people but could someone drive him to the hospital he just had the chainsaw go though half his leg and he can't hit the gas pedal to drive himself.

    unless the patch breaks something which you should test in a test lab you should apply most patches, and half of the releases that explain what it fixes explain how to take advantage of any computers that don't use this patch, if it's a serious threat then it might be better to let people protect themselves before you tell the hackers how to use that exploit.

    if your company partners with Microsoft you get pricing etc benefits if you beta test for them.

    quite a few companies have test environments where they can test things such as beta service packs and any actual service packs before it goes live as well.

    I don't think this is completely new I remember hearing about some kind of fiber dipped in a liquid to amplify the signal on long fiber runs 2 years ago in school.
    The process of recreating the signal would still be needed to remove unwanted noise which means a computer needs to identify each 1 and each 0 then send those back out again the same as if they were being converted to electrical signals.

    having a xxx domain is only going to help for those that choose to use the domain, your not going to force playboy.com to change to playboy.xxx if you do who gets to buy the .com extention from them? and if someone desides to have some family home page with domain xxx are you going to tell them they are required to get some porn onto their website if they have that domain?

    Not everything to do with Advertising has needs to be showing the customer ads
    If Google is able to watch every website people go to, how long, etc, surfing habits, where people spend the most money at etc, they can use these numbers in selling advertising space.
    Google uses information it collects as well to find which new products they should create and probability of it working

    It sounds a lot like he is already talking to Google, you can use a gmail account to login to his site, and google maps is imbedded into his site. I don't think you are able to just access gmails user account database without some sort of agreement.

    If you can't trust employees, who is securing the network for you? As a network admin I have full access to a company's full network within a week of starting a new job, otherwise I am unable to do my job.

    There will always be a level of trust needed between employers and employees since even if the president of a company can set up the security for a company they would still have to trust someone to enforce it, and that person would have the ability to abuse.

    if you push in each direction into a small grove, such as the space between bricks, or the ridges in bark, you are able to have enough friction to keep you up, I rock climb quite often and simply by pushing with both hand and feet against rocks, you can even climb the roof of a cave.

    Little practicality? I can see quite a few uses for a robot that can climb vertical walls and trees, that is small enough to go inside vents etc,,,

    I am sure that most of these companies have already paid for quality of service and are not paying $40/month for their internet, they would have very high speed fibre connections coming in to give them the high speed connection to the internet allowing them to upload media to clients.

    First of all for the comment of

    As for people saying
    "Hey, God makes bees fly. Since I already know the real reason, there's no real reason to keep studying it"
    Don't think it is fair to say anyone that believes in god believes that, I have heard people say "who cares how the tv works, you hit the button it turns on" Some people like to know exactly how everything works, some people just don't care as long as it does.

    It is likly that the magnetic strip will have nothing more than the ID number displayed on the front of the card that can be swiped in and pull your information off a server somewhere. Same with the RFID tag if they use them, the part that is scary is if they require you to have them and, they already scan drivers licences at some bars when you go in which I don't like, every bar/strip club/etc will probably just have a RFID tag reader at the door. this is an invasion of privacy some wife could hire a private investegator to find out what her husband is up and just need to type in his ID into a computer to get the history of all hotels and bars he has been to in the past year.

    They already scan some ID's in bars, imagine where RFID readers would be setup monitoring exactly where you go when and where.
