EXISTING SHOWS I ONLY WATCH VIA BITTORRENT The Venture Brothers because it is on too late at night on a Sunday.
Yeah, I know it's one more to list, but it's significant because it's such a good show and it's a crime that the Nielsons can't see that I watch it. Not that they could anyway; I don't own a Nielson box.
Thanks to renting TV-based DVDs, I've watched a number of shows that probably should have lived longer lives; if only the ratings:
SHOWS THAT ARE NO LONGER Wonderfalls, which was a lot of fun, but probably failed due to it's very unlikeable protagonist. Freaks and Geeks, which is one of the greatest TV shows I've ever watched, so much so that I bought the DVD set even after watching the entire series via NetFlix; I've never done that before or since. Undeclared, which was not as good as Freaks and Geeks. Life as we Know It, which was not as good as Undeclared. Arrested Development, which was so much more intelligent than the audience, but probably failed by being too self-referential for the wandering lookie-loo.
EXISTING SHOWS THAT I NOW ACTIVELY WATCH Veronica Mars, and I am addicted thanks to the DVDs. The Office, which did not thrill me with the pilot, but that's what she said.
I even got my parents hooked on The Office. They loved it when Dwight thought Thursday was Friday.
EXISTING SHOWS I ONLY WATCH VIA BITTORRENT South Park, which is on too late at night. Lost, because I'm busy on Wednesdays. Battlestar Galactica, because I'm busy on Fridays. My Name is Earl, because I can't be bothered to look up the show time.
EXISTING SHOWS THAT I AM STILL EVALUATING VIA DVD The 4400, which is kind of boring in the whole "Everyone knows everyone else" kind of but is it still on?
SHOWS PEOPLE KEEP WATCHING BUT SHOULDN'T Deal or No Deal, which is just plain stupid. I was in the airport last week and The Office was on the TV. I was the only one watching. Then DoND comes on and 10 people STEP OUT OF THE A LINE FROM SOUTHWEST (significant if you fly Southwest), to watch the damn thing. I audibly asked what the attraction was and not one person answered me.
... I don't know if it was Hackers or Sneakers, but there was one with a blind guy who was a computer hacker and he had his hands over the keyboard and the keys would jump up at him so he knew what he was reading. That was total crap.
At least, it certainly felt like it; I've no experience with reciprocating keyboards.
Honestly. I'm looking for a good Plasma TV and I thought they were going to talk about the next generation of Plasma TVs. I'm thinking of getting a 42" Panasonic.
And it's pretty good at stating a lot that this book had already done, except that it's X-Men exclusive. Science of the X-Men - I wonder if he cites it in his bibliography.
Here I am losing my geek license twice today; first by not knowing ^H and now by not knowing what the heck a Beowulf Cluster is and yet referencing it.
I was geeky enough to look it up, and even worse, respond to your forum response to my original post while explaining all of this to you in my own response.
Sci-Fi (Traveller, Shadowrun, Licensed TV/Movie Show X)
Super-Heroes (HERO, Mutants & Masterminds, Blood of Heroes)
Horror (Call of Cthulhu, Beyond the Supernatural)
Thematic (Feng Shui, Deadlands, Paranoia)
I'm sure I could have broken that last one down into Hong Kong Action, Wild West, and Sci-Fi Comedy Dystopia, but there's only so much time in the day...
They asked me what my Age and Sex are. Guess they already know my Location. Oh crap, POS GTG.
I get home late that day.
Because I BOUGHT Firefly, sight unseen based on many, MANY recommendations before I (1) had a Netflix account and (2) saw the movie.
And it was totally worth every penny.
In other news, Justice League Unlimited.
{sticks pinky to mouth edge} Mwah... Mwah hah... Mwah ha ha ha haaaaaa!!!!!!!

Where is this thing??? Did they shoot these kids and hide their bodies like they did with the guy what invented the car that runs on water?
Would love to play as Sam Beckett or Al Calavicci. Classes are traveller, resident, or hologram representation from the future.
Link to the Google Name Origin. Quick clarification - the "check" referred to above was a search check, not an investor's check.
I've only got 26 points left after seeing that Shoggoth last week.
And they even explain it on YouKnowWhere.
Will you get electrocuted?

Jay Garrick I can see, and maybe Barry Allen and Bart Allen, but Wally West was boo-koo speedy.
Mea culpa.

Hand in your geek badge immediately!!!
Well, I know what it is now.

So, I should think that I just redeemed my badge.

I always understood the underlying meaning, but I never caught the origin until now: ^H Explained.

The 200 Project
You can almost see the evolution, if it weren't for the poor video quality.
I found the originals:
Original 1K Project
3k Project
Anyone know where the 2k Project or a crisper version of the 3k Project are?
