They will just blame dropping sales on priacy if plp stop buying cds normally, not to say I dont agree with you. but If I am downloading music I feel i should pay for it, so pay the artist's directly at
Musiclink
Lets let the RIAA know that the artists are still getting paid but not by them.
Yep, you are correct, I read ebooks on my pocket pc and the only ebook sites that seem to be making good money are the ones that sell ebooks with no restrictions. Like Fictionwize, ext.
The media industry is living in a dream world, and there about to realize their death in a few short years I think.
Yep look at those DVD/CD combo players from sony or other brands, you cant play burned Audio cds in them, they refeuse to play them, and they dont say nothing on the box either, so this could happen to HDTV as well, if know one knows about it.
What i hate is thos commericials that they put at the beginning of the moves now, i mean you pay 9 dollars for a movie you shouldnt have to watch commericials.
The onld problem I see with this is since its a virtural machine its going to run alot slower than a physicial machine devoting most of its cpu processes to that one thread.
Actuallaly I thought that was a intersesting question, somthing I have never thought of before.
I think that was a worthy post, gets alot of plp talking about like minded ideas.
For me thats the whole point, how much does the consumer really care about IP ? not a whole hell alot i would gather.
So its complete nosence for companies to say that this is that big of a issue since its not benifting consumers in any way I can see..
I will allways think the views of the people outwieght the pursuite of the allmighty dollar and day of the week, but this is the US and compaines concerns come first, hell thats the principals our country was founded on so its not so much of a suprize anymore.
But we should not be calling for the repeal of all copyright. We should be calling for a balanced and limited form of copyright - much like the right of our framers - that gives artists the right to earn a living, without giving copyright hoarders the power to veto innovation.
I am not a lawyer but would anyone care comment on what kind of damage would it cause if copyright law was appealed?
It seems to me in the digital age, its not need anymore.
LOL!!, dude stop, im dieing of laughter over here.
Its going to be a long and ignorant run for the RIAA, I kinda thought they would get the picture by now dont you think ?
Lets play Whack the Mole one more time!!
Ok we got the first one, dammit now their are three, ok get those three, BAM! 10 more, and on and on and on again.
Because they should be able to do whatever the dam well please. How would you like it if I sued you for blocking spam mail that I was tring to send to you ?
I think its important to point out that a for all the work that is involved in keeping this type of system up to date and running they should definatly get some type of compensation, you cant do this kind of work for free forever ? dont you think ?
Anyone want to comment on how it is possible to win a suit that involves a group that decides that they dont want mail from spam companies and through technology put's in place safegards that prevents this ?
I dont know about everyone else but I think its completly rediculious to think that you could get sued for blocking spam on your own computer.
I really think no person or court has a right to tell a person or a group what they can and cannot do with regards to blocking any mail they deemed nessassary.
Yes people we are back live with the age old war against the light and dark side, Is it Emacs ? or is VI ? (I know its VIM I dont give a flying f**K((BEEP)))
You underestmate the power of the VI side MACS....:)
All I want to say is thank you for pointing this out, we really appearicate your help and the views of the national media does not reflect the views most of the people in the US who are smart enough to know better then to trust everything the corprate owned media says.
Unfortuantly, I cant speak for the clueless.
Secondly during the attack all attention was immediately placed on international flights despite the fact that the four flights were originating and destined in the US, but of course it's easy to think of foreign airports as lax versus the super secure impenetrable US airports.
I totally agree with you, yea are airports probably have worst security.
And what about routers, if a company designs a router that restricts the flow of information that can only be montitored,(such as clear text) would it still be possible to use encryption ?,or encryption that is has key escrow ? I mean that seems like thats the most likly place to start as any, at the source.
That was a extremely short sighted statement on Kurt Vonnegut part "The e-book is a ridiculous idea," said Vonnegut, who hasn't read his work on a computer and never intends to.
They must have said that about the Light Bulb, The first flying device ever created, and tons of other stuff we now use in every day life.
I unfortunately use Microsoft's reader format.lit, it's an extremely capable format, but proprietary.
The clear text function really makes it easier to read books; I sit up at night and read from my Pocket PC now instead of a paperback book, it had some really cool word search dictionary functions as well.
Nuff said...

I dont know maybe that sounds ignorant, but the madness is got to stop, this is a country for the PEOPLE created by the PEOPLE.
The focus should be on helping others live better lifes, and money is a byproduct of that goal.

Thats exactly the response they want from you and the rest of plp who have no clue.
Everytime a crisis happens the goverment uses it to take away rights that are important to us.
Im all for fighting crime, but Im defantly not for spying on every US Citizen without just cause, no matter what happens.
Quit letting your emotions control your judgement.
