  2. Or.. on Upgrading Wi-Fi — What, When, and Why · · Score: 0

Why upgrade at all? Unless you can really use the extra speed of 802.11g because you have an insane internet speed it's just a waste. Transferring files across the LAN non stop is probably very rare for most users. I'm not even using wireless at all on my network, it would be a lot of money for almost no benefit. If I need an extra 100m of cat5 or get a laptop then maybe I'll go wireless but really, it's not needed.

I have that problem not with e-mail but with media I have downloaded. Instead of watching TV through cable I download TV shows and I find that even though I will never watch the series again I keep all the episodes. I have even bought larger hard drives and now have 750GB of space. This is a total waste of money but I find I can't delete them. I suposse its related to collecting things like beenie babies or spoons or whatever.

They are concerned. 12 Security flaws were just fixed with this release, if you look at the previous change logs they have been constantly fixing security problems. Really, it would be close to impossible to make a browser fully secure from every type of vulnerability, especially free ones.

A good online service comparable to xbox360s live. Imagine super smash brawl with unlimited online oppentens, tournaments galore, and updated content. I play smash bros. melee still but only for the multiplayer. With a quality online feature nintendo will surely take the lead in sales with the next generation consoles.

If you want to a massive amount of people to see what you have created you have to give the website you are posting it to right to use it anyway they want. Same works with deviantart and myspace, what is posted there they can use it free of charge. If you want it so only you can redistribute it then very few people will likley see it.

  14. Not good on The State of ATI Drivers on GNU/Linux · · Score: 3, Informative

From my experience not good. I run gentoo and updating to xorg-7.1 has been somewhat of a hassle with a ati card. Ati has yet to offer drivers with xorg-7.1 support and as a result I have had to downgrade and mask many packages to make it so ati drivers will work. Maybe once xorg-7.2 is released we will get suport for 7.1.

  15. Nintendos' Wii on The Videogame Industry is Broken · · Score: 2, Insightful

This is why the Wii will take the lead in sales with the coming generation of consoles. The development kit is cheap and rather than companies spending millions on pushing graphics to the max they are more focused on game design. The console is also signifficantly cheaper than Sony and Micosofts offerings so game companies could sell more.
