Now I don't have to worry about boarding a jet anymore, but just look up at the ones crashing into my home... Not that the jets themselves are run on Windows, but its just a thought. Hey Microsoft, I am a member of the Air Force too! Where can I pirate, uhhmm, download, my version?
Shouldn't we be a little bit more worried about the situation here on earth first? Between the issues in our current national parks and if they will exist with all the clutter and chaos of our society. Mars is YEARS off from inhabitation anyway, so why worry about that now? I mean its a great idea and all but it is much more important to first consider how we will land and live on the surface let alone utilize a national park...
911 is now becominig Enhanced 911 [E911] and if I am not mistaken, the FCC or state requires charges too customers for this service. This is definatly required for cell services and would make sense as well to be required for VoIP. Vonage is my current carrier and they charge A few extra bucks a month for maintainance in the 911 field. I do not think that it is much of a problem. Even if companies are not funding it, the company simply routes it to the nearest facility. This facility is usually your local police HQ which is run by your taxes, and therefore still in operation.
Here is an analogy on why we don't buy MS products:
If I buy a $80 OS, I expect $80 worth of function, mind-blowing software. Linux give you more for $10 [CDs, etc]. M$ junkware is more like going to the store and purchasing a Porsche for $80,000 but the cylendar heads blowing off every so often or the doors falling off whereas a $10,000 Chevy may do the job almost flawlessly.
They say they will not prosecute. But in reality they would wait some time, then bring you to court and win soo much more money then the distro was worth in the beginning. If only M$ didnt make shitty software and charge so much for it, maybe people would be more willing to BUY it. [My last owned version of Windows was 98SE]
Dual video cards are a plus. Not only wil lthere be one GPU processing your requests, but you have the better ability to use trwo displays with more performance. As the future goes, boxes will be able to process more and will need to display more graphics intense software. Also, I believe that it is a good idea to have one box to power several stations and that is where several video cards come into play.... One will not be acceptable several years into the future especially for performance power users [gamers, multimedia, etc].
lol. Only problem is with the limited power output of the console is that by time you find an open network, the administrator will be chasing you out of his cubicle!
LOL.. of course I will flip off those drivers... Always do. Especially after they near run me over all the time. See arguements about SUVs at Moped Army
You can't speak for most Americans. Yet then again, most of them do not care about anyone else and are obsessed with those beatly vehicles called SUVs. Most of them do not care anyway except that its the "cool thing" to drive or that it is huge for severla people when there is only one short, female driver that drives it every day. The "adult driving enthusiasts will utilize" part is more specific to commerical drivers such as construction companies that need high torque to pull heavy loads or do heavy duty things. Only problem id you need a lot of power for that and it is not something we have right now. So for the fact of shitty cars, electrics could be great, SUVs are pretty bad in most features and keypoints, but what are you going to do? Most of society is blind to why something like an SUV is bad, its faulty points, and even its benefits. That is just the way it is...
At least I can trust them MUCH more than Microsoft and I have a feeling that they will do more what the user would like via suggestions and such. Also, Google seems as if they will be smart about decisions and at least give other people a chance at developing software that they offer [unlike the MS Monopoly]. Much of Google's software may even be open source, as is the browser that is still possibly going to be developed. Even if not, at least it could be more functional than most MS apps....
Fuel Cells I believe will the the ideal way to generate current. Not only can you get a renewable fuel source, but can make Water and Hydrogen in either process of creating or burning the fuel. It is efficient, non-polluting, and will power something great to come. Even better is if we can create an fuel cell to power the car directly to the motors so there are less batteries and thus less weight on the car to make it go even FASTER and FURTHER! [maybe even combine the power of both to the drivetrain...]
American hated the concept of Electric Motors in cars for one simple fact. Speed. They like to go fast and with the ones introduced to us, they did not. They were slower, hybrid animals that may have accelerated faster, but were not up to par by American standards. At least in a few years this car proposed will develop into something more hormone ravaged teens will dream and adult driving enthusiasts will utilize. Only now, to develop a ample charging device...
Going mainstream in the home for LEDs is not somwething we are accustomed to. I believe it is a great untapped resource not only because they use less power and have so many color options but they have the potential to be super bright... For example, LED flashlights [quality, SuperBright ones only have 3 LEDs and shine better than most incandessants with a smaller size]. Also, I seem to have noticed LEDs on traffic lights [maybe THAT is just me but I swear its a cluster of LEDs] and they are much more attention catching, brighter, and longer-lasting. And if one burns out, you have about 100 more that still keep working! GO LEDs!
VoIP should mean that charges are less due to the fact that most is over the internet. Only thing they should charge for is initial connection fee and the data services that the company offers and not necessarily connection time to the network... And let the connection fee vary slightly from month tyo month depending on usage [for every Five hours of talking every month, pay $5 extra].
If only we would get great technology like that of Asia and Europe quicker in the US! I always thought it would be a good idea to get a mobile phone merged with voip [though over a WLAN link]. This would allow WLANs to be 2x useful and encourage huge meshes of APs in order to utilize them not on ly for data but voice as well. Only the future will tell us...
...but it still doesn't mean that if you can get more benefits from it [eg: more efficient power and better speeds] then you shouldn't consider the idea...
This is how society blends mince and men...

The only way I see blending of mice and men is when our hands are merged with our mice when gaming 24/7 on the hot new RPGs!
Oh boy, now a laptop and dektops are one in the same. THere was always that arguement of what has better performance but now since both can run on the same CPU and MOBO architecture there will be no complaining. Does this mean I can walk down the street with my desktop now? Damn, I will need a lot of extention cords!
Second you on complete silence being eerie. If only it would rain more... But seeing that I have two boxes almost constantly on in my room, I wonder what I would do if I ever went to liquid cooling! Apnea would consume my soul!
Even so, don't you think it should be the same relative platform that the themes run off of? They STILL should work... I mean it went from FF1.0PR to FF1.0 not Firefox1 to FireFox 3.2 or something...
FF1 is somewhat disappointing to me. It does not crash at all compared to PR1.0 for me but I do dislike the fewer themes and extentions that were offered in previous versions. Some may have been incorperated but some are not that could be potentially useful. As for crashing, mine has not cr4ashed since and I keep a ton of tabs open all the time...
This device has been on cars for the past year or so. It only tracks speeds [from what I am told] and is for when you crash. I just hope I don't get speeding tickets in the mail for going 100 down the Interstate!
I dont really see a point in this. There are other apps that track personal inforation if you want them too. And now this company could know everything I am doing... Not worth my time...
And I thought Steam fixed the server issues... Guess I definatly WONT be downloading the HL2 silver but buying it in retail stores. NOw only to see if it will install and authenticate successfully!
I have not had GREAT results with wine, yet I never have really tried. At least there is a game that will be easily and fully installable into linux. Next, we jsut need gaming developers to compile into linux! [I believe there was one game that did that]
Now I don't have to worry about boarding a jet anymore, but just look up at the ones crashing into my home... Not that the jets themselves are run on Windows, but its just a thought. Hey Microsoft, I am a member of the Air Force too! Where can I pirate, uhhmm, download, my version?
