Fundraising Idea for the Cosmosphere: What would slashdotters pay to see this guy streaking across the sky at terminal velocity after being tarred and feathered.
Wasn't it this mission that carried a nuclear reactor that used plutonium? And to get to Saturn, NASA swung the craft in a near earth slingshot effect? I remember being stunned to learn after the fact that a wrong calculation would have led to a disasterous burn-up in earth's atmosphere. Articles at the time were saying that these guys are good and miscalulations just don't happen at this level of engineering excellence... Yeah, right.
I, for one, do not welcome our glow-in-the-dark overlords.

Space Family Robinson, Key Comics precursor to the famed (lame of the same name) TV show. Anyway the space station had a replicator made of two identical glass enclosures. Put an object in one enclosure, hit the button, and a dupe appeared in the other enclosure. W007! FREE SPIF!
