Then out of the sky swooped a giant bat, picked up the dragon with me inside its belly! The bat flew high into the sky, and actually gave me a nice little sightseeing of the fantasy world from above

Just curious, but how could you see anything if you were inside the dragons belly? Did he have a clear stomach or something?

Why not skip the code part and create machine code based on the comments alone? Perhaps this what future compilers will do?

Yes but what if you were watching porn on that television? What if I could hear your speakers down the road at 2am in the morning?

The question that we need to ask those that are accesing unsecured wireless networks is that was it intent or ignorance? Analogies don't seem work...

  17. This could be cool if done right on AI Researchers Produce New Kind of PC Game · · Score: 1

There are so many other aspects in current gaming where this could be applied. In an RPG game it could add another aspect to an AI controlled party where, not only would the levels of the other part members matter, but their combat training/experience would matter as well. In fact, the "level" aspect of your part members could be completely removed and it would make sense. Just think of all the stupid things we do when we are first starting out in an MMORPG or RPG because we are inexperienced (well, that might change for some, but in general we do get smarter about approaching our enemies and know our strength and weaknesses better as we level).

Personally, I think it would be cool to be able to go through a series of training sessions to teach my squad of 5 AI controlled soldiers to do what I want (urban warfare comes to mind). However, it would also add to the "work" factor that is present in some games. I picture an online scenario with me and my AI controlled squad versus another player and his AI controlled squad, where he has put many hours into "training" his soldiers, and he just destroys me. This is probably fair, even in a real world situation, since the better trained troops should win, but it would take the "casual" out of gaming.

  22. Re:HA! on Consumers Prefer Movies At Home · · Score: 1

I think going to the theatre is more about atmosphere. Sure you give up some "conviences" but, at home, you are prone to more distractions (i.e. the dog needing to go out, the cell phone rings, baby crying, etc). At the theatre, you are there for one reason only, to watch a movie. You are focused and set in a "mood".

However, I do agree with you, with television sets becomming bigger and higher resolutions, I feel that this "atmosphere" is going to switch to the home rather than the theatre. Then we'll all just become social outcasts... well some of us probably already are ;).

Besides, unless they had a way to add/remove heads, you'd have to purchase seperate machines to handle different widths of paper. I.E. A letter sized head wouldn't be able to handle a ledger sized paper and vice versa. What if I wanted to print a postcard?
