  1. Best Shot ! on Testing Drugs on India's Poor · · Score: 1
    From TFA
"Third World lives are worth much less than the European lives. That is what colonialism was all about," said Srirupa Prasad, a visiting assistant professor of medical history and bioethics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Iam sure no one would refute that sad fact. It 'applies' not only for drug testing, but for everything today.

How the hell are these companies able to do this....we talk all the time about protecting the PC from Virus/Malware/spyware,we use antivirus/Firewall/router & all those things to protect the PC,But isnt there any protection from falling victim to these guys???No Software?

For any security hole in browser/OS we crib so much, but what about this BIG HOLE in our computers that allows these companies to do all snooping work??

For instance, Windows Media DRM has had remarkably few exploits given how high profile it is: the last was back in January IIRC and it was rapidly patched (so it no longer worked after a few weeks). Even then that crack didn't let you decrypt any arbitrary file: you had to actually purchase a license first. The current generation has remained uncracked for nearly a year.

With every software being cracked by crackers group, what makes WMA DRM so rigid that there is simply no way to crack it?[ Other than recording through Line-in which isnt great idea].

I did wash my hands with soap after that, but now this thread has got me worried about it after so many years!!! :-(

And what about this white incandescent lamps [ Tube lights ]that are used in Asia. They are the normal lighting used in homes. Are they safe? [Probably, thats the reason why american homes are lit by yellows bulbs instead of incandescent tubes that give white light?]
