    The US has more people in jail as a percentage of the population than Russia.

    That could be because Russia actually enforces thier death penalty. And not with some long drawn out process of 20 year appeals... That would certainly cut down on the prison population wouldn't it.

    I hope there is no "built in bias" in these voting machines but if there is a problem I'd like to have them discovered now. Let's face it, if they can change the votes, they can print up whatever kind of bar code thay want to justify it. Im sure there will be twice as many electronic voting machines in the next election.

    On a hopeful note I saw an article on CNN's website that MIT and the California Institute of Tech has requested logs and raw data from machines from every county that had electronic voting to study the data and look for possible mistakes. I believe if there is a problem these guys will find it.

    Your plate number is not private, at least not in the US. I am ignorant about whether it is on the other side of the pond. In the US it is public information and the information can be requested, for a small fee usually.

    What would one do with your tag number anyway? Would you expect someone to get a car that is your make and color, fake a plate with your number on it to commit a crime with it? Man that's way too much TV talking...

    My guess is that this guy is teaching "art" because he cannot even teach Biotech and genetics much less work in the field...

    I still have my original Q-link disks. : ) After some time co-running a C-64 BBS (we were the only guys in town with a 10 meg HD on our BBS) I remember Q-link being my first experience with avatars on a computer. You could join Club Med I think it was called, a tropical island like area to chat with others.

    IANAL but Darl runs SCO, and he can do with the company whatever the board and stockholders let him get away with, if he wants to throw it at the lawyers, so be it.

    But don't think just because lawyers get the money that it stops there. People... real people, have to build those cars lawyers buy, and fix them and gas them up. Someone has to build and sell them those nice homes, and those waterfalls and pools, and whatever else those lawyers buy. A lot of people have a bias against those who are well off. It's not like rich people sit on thier money. The money goes around. If you don't think you get your fair share, then go get it.

    On Tatooine, on Rori, or on Corellia even ! I have been to all the planets and have not seen one TV. Sure a few of the cantina's have sports themes, but even they don't have a TV. Can't even get a droid engineer to make me one. That is on the Gorath server but I'm sure it is the same on all of them. No wonder ratings are in the toilet !!!

    I remember reading about nuclear power plants that were in the middle of construction when TMI happened. And then the projects went dead. Uneducated people were scared to let the plants be continued, ( in my best Hank Hill voice ) and those damn hippies needed to get jobs, and that's partly why we are way behind in providing power today. Witness events like the brownouts in California and the big power outage last year in the northeast U.S.

    That may happen if anybody maintained thier website. I joined Phantom.net's forums to read messages when Hardocp filed for a declaratory judgement in the beginning of March. I was able to get in thier forums for about 2 days, after that all I got was a message that the forum was down for maintenance. Thier entire website doesn't appear to have changed around since the first of the year.

    If you have a great new product you are trying to hype is this how you do it?

    I'm with Fnkmaster on this one. Those engineers should not even be allowed to strike. I read about police and firefighters who are ordered by judges back to work, and the two sides ordered to keep negotiating. This is on that scale of public safety at least.

    ...on another note, behind my toilet is at least a level 3 lab, and I don't even have battery backup...
