    enlightenment has a beautiful pager that includes a thumbnailed image of the window. Here you can see it.

    If i can find something like the wheel, or standing in line isnt patented yet, can i file for it and charge everyone that uses it?

    There is another book, but this time a novell by Ellen Ullman its called "The Bug" and it deals with a software developer fighting this kind of critter.
    There is some insight on the characters mind and obssesing with the bug. I saw this in Spectrum Magazine, i dont know if it has been reviewed here.

    what about active RFID tags? they have their own power source, and as we know Faraday Cage doesnt let incoming waves in, but let all of them go out.

    With that kind of interference you have to take in account Electromagnetics emmissions that may disturb the health of the people living near the lines. Do you plan to have every woman, man and child walking in Tinfoil clothing untill you are absolutely shure it wont fry your brain?.

    the trackball is a great idea but another idea comes to hands...in gamers.
    PS controls have this great things for analog control right next to your thumbs, i think it'll work better that way, and maybe pressing it can result in a click.

    Seriously, i tried to install a linux distribution just to get a glimpse on the state of the art on desktop usability. In my uninformed decision i downloaded Fedora and instantly missed the multimedia support.
    Eyecandy and the like, and ready to use software are needed for the (painful if ur not a geek) transition to a Linux Destop.

    so how many hospitals, text books for schools and environmental research does this giant Quake server costs?. You can put a price in dollars, but surely cant in terms of the damage is doing to your society. War is so destructive that just prepairing for it is bad for all of us.

    Microsoft and senior UN officials reply that the accusation is false, saying that the company's contributions were relatively modest, complied with UN guidelines and did not unduly influence decision-making within the body. .

    Like they ever would say something like "yes we are behaving like corrupt colombian Mobsters". Standars are always a wrestling match between companies trying to impose their technology, who doesnt want everyone to need what you created and know best how to do!.

    After reading "stupid white men" by Michael Moore i think there is where they are heading.

    He points enough environmental science facts ignored by Bush's administration(SUV gas and mileage, arsenide in tap water, tons of garbage, etc) that almost made me puke!.

    maybe Xfree86 could rethink the acknoledgement in the form of a "Logo", say, on a corner of the distro-box, and a splashscreen when the Xserver Starts. the funny alternative would be like when you shut down the pc, instead of the regular log, it appears like ending credits, with all the acknowledgements(end film music included ;))

    is like the "stick to whatever works" way. However i have been looking for the "definitive" linux media player and noone has an answer for it. In windows there are many players completely stable and versatile like bsplayer or the very own WMP. Linux is still not mature enough for some industries.

    this reminds me of an article posted on slashdot not a while ago, regarding Free trade between US and Australia, involving Australia with the same copyright laws the US has. Supposedly each country that faces this (Chile is on the verge of Free trade with the US) will begin the "hunt". I wonder if legal rulings on countries that "hunt" some p2p company will serve as a precedent in other trials to other countries.

    maybe flexible organic led displays may offer an alternative in the near future, in terms of visual quality and ruggedness. I agree ebooks are not at their best, but as soon as they start mimmicking the thousand years old good properties of normal books, the sooner we'll stop killing trees for paper.

    so it does Disney, have you noticed the protagonist is always a child whos parents are divorced or dead? (Lion King, Bambi) or have racial differences(Pocahontas), kinda exploiting our own traumas to relate to the characters...

    as you can see is not that much more expensive, so you can devote your Linux Box for Linux games and completely rule out the other OS. Also you have to purchase Wine, windows upgrades, etc.
    Porting games to Linux is much more appealing since full advantage of hardware can be taken. It has to be appealing in economic terms.

    what about third world countries? only rich people here have access to the latest technology, because imported cellphones come so overpriced noone else can afford them. Still on the other hand in Chile are more mobile phones around than regular lines, despite the fact we use TDMA for some companies and CDMA for others.

    sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. We are intrested in technical details but, the other 99.9% of the ppl just want it to work and look cute. Linux can do all that together, but people should know it somehow.

    Late on Tuesday, Microsoft issued a patch for a vulnerability in its Windows software that could be used to unleash a virus even more devastating than MyDoom. This patch should be installed by anyone running Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

    ..."the patch is called SP2"
