You need to change your screen resolution to 320x240;) I bet you're one of those crazy xterm fanboys who use a resolution of 1600x1200 (or even worse if you have a 16/9 LCD screen)
Off-topic but I'd like a list of these countries so I can avoid them like the plague. Every time I go the mall, I see something like 10 fully naked dummies, no one cares: it's just a plastic dummy!
I don't laugh at americans because most of the americans I talk to are on/. but I'm "kinda scared" when I see what's happening in the USA. I see boobs, cursing, making fun of religions or people smoking cigarettes on TV or in the street, things that would provoke riots in your streets.
There even was two years ago a "black humour" TV show at 8PM where women pubes where shown on a few occasions without real problems (the only requirement was: "we advise your children under 10 years old not to watch this show" but that was all).
Logging the movement of the mouse may be too difficult to implement. In the end it's always HTTP requests sent to the server. What I would do is write a server that the key logger could connect to, the key logger would send the URL of the site being visited and the server would answer with the proper protocol to follow. The server would have a database of all the banking web sites and if a web site is missing in the DB, the phisher would add it manually to the DB. The captcha could be cracked on the local machine or it could be cracked on a porn site (as it's already been done in the past: read this captcha and get your pics!)
I'm curious about this "digital calendar". If I were Bill Gates, I would add a newsreader, a POP3 client (with ActiveX) and a web browser, it can be very handy in a traffic jam! I like when technology helps the driver to take his own decisions but I guess that with Microsoft, this new car will take its own decision without the consent of anyone, even in an emergency.
Due to some personal circumstances, I'd far rather see them executed for their crime.
I don't know what happened to you (and I'm not trolling) but due to some personal circumstances (about death, not child rapists) I'd rather see them locked up in jail for the rest of their lives where they could earn money and buy their own food. I call death penalty "murder" because death penalty is not in my culture (Europe) and I find the word "penalty" so ridiculously wrong in this context.
The death penalty places the whole society on the same level as murderers. The real question is: Is society satisfied with it? Killing someone is still the most horrible act on this planet whether it's justified or not. I personnaly believe that all these guys should stay in prison for the rest of their lives and work in these prisons to eran money and buy their own food. But murder is not the answer.
Outside of the USA, some people might tell you that the death penalty (I prefer the word "murder") is even more retarded when you're someone who can think for himself. I don't have a real definitive opinion on death penalty but this is a subject that must be studied deeper than the usual "kill them all, they're guily after all."
She probably has 20-30 years of exposure to computers, all in this form.
She doesn't really know what a computer looks like, she even thought my Mac Mini was a big pack of cigarettes. I wonder if this adaptation (familiarity) happens to all humans or is limited to young people familiar with video games (and big robots launching rockets out of their arms). Most adults I've spoken to have the same reaction of rejecting this unknown universe.
I've shown the video of Asimo to my mother. In this video, Asimo runs, walks and even pulls a woman by her arm. My mother was freaked out and almost had nightmares because of it. (she's a child psychologist;) and told me that the scary part of this robot is its humanoid appearance. It's all right as long as it's a computer with a mouse and a keyboard, but when this computer has two arms, two legs and a head, the fear comes (and I don't know why)
But if you attend this convention, you'll be instantely famous in the future, you don't need to wait anything at all.
And FYI, Futurama's episode "S04E01: Roswell that Ends Well" shown us that you could change the past at will and even be your own grand-father (maybe they do this to us all the time without our consent, it's scary...)
I'm sorry but "Please review them and have another vote on DMCA" seems exactly like "Who do you think you are to disagree with what we think is right?", there is absolutely no difference to me.
Off-topic but if you can find a torrent of it, download it and watch it a thousand times, it's really worth it (worth it as spilling coke through your nose;)
This feature was one of the most important and most scary "improvement" in the history of computers a few years ago: removing the control of the machine from the hands of the user, censorship controlled by Redmond. The fact that they removed this "feature" is an improvement by itself.
This is the usual joke we can see in/. signatures. It's either 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1, not really funny when you have a bit of network knowledge... The guy's a perfect example of what a n00b is, calling him a script kiddie is too good for him.
B) Everyone with a computer did this when i was young and it was never difficult. Just copy the files in a predefined order (written clearly in this handy crack.txt) or launch a few cracks. You know what? It's a thousand times easier nowadays: just click on setup.exe and click Next->Next->Next, you don't need to read anymore.
This kind of shit IS NOT HELPFUL! It's useless, the protection is easily bypassed and it costs money to those irresponsible parents who think they are good parents because they bought this protection at Wallmart.
That's stupid, any kid these days can bypass easily this kind of protection. And I guess this kind of lame parents are not those who would "talk with their kids" or why would they install such a program in the first place?
Are you drunk? I can't believe it. How old are you seriously? Parents should NEVER use softwares as a way of indirect authority, especially when these parents don't know how to use their computers and most kids these days know very well how to download cracks on warez web sites.
There is still is too much copy protection and DRM in audio CDs, everything is not perfect. The good thing is that EU didn't killed (yet) my right to backup what I legally bought.
PNG is the future of GIF, everyone agrees with it. But replacing JPEG by PNG is doomed to fail. PNG are so much bigger (especially phtos) that you can't store or transfer them easily. It's the same problem with compilers: you can have the perfect compiler generating the fastest code possible but it will be so long to compile that no one will use it. If you need 5 minutes to send one birthday photo to your mother and she needs 2 minutes to get it, no one will be interested.
The built-in RSS support is nothing new and already is integrated in a lot of OSS now, this is something I wouldn't be proud of. As for the new Dashboard, it's a copy of Konfabulator which is itself a copy of "Apple's Desk Accessories."
Everyone is copying from everyone else and it's not a bad thing. All the good ideas from old systems are implemented now with new stuff. The difference is: Apple does it better, cleaner (more intuitive) and before Microsoft.
because typing in "apt-get" or "emerge" makes so much more sense to new users than double-clicking an icon that says "setup".
I know you're a troll but don't you think Microsoft could learn something from Mac OS X design: NO install, just drag and drop the "application" (which has a hidden folder with all the resources necessary) and launch the program! No need to double click icons for installation anymore.
Why don't you just ask? Yesterday I asked a friend (who owns a comic shop) what kind of music he was listening to and he gave me a huge list of good stuff to buy from all around the world. There is an almost infinite amount of music we'll never listen to and you don't know what you're missing. I ended up buying brazilian and indian records (when I usually listen to hard-rock and black metal).

That's OK I found it. The price is 88.50 for the students like me, I can buy it now :)
