Just change the proxy configuration to some nonexistent computer. Even if she tries to use IE she won't be able to.( assuming she isn't too nerdy - otherwise she would have used mozilla since 3 years:-) )

I tried the same and it worked over here - you might also add a good fancy theme to mozilla/firefox to make it more attractive.

In my opinion this is not a lie and neither he should be ashamed of what he has done. I feel that the renaming the shortcut is a necessary evil to break into general population's mindset that "Internet Explorer" is the internet. Most of the people are conditioned into thinking that way - because thats the way they got on to the net in the first place.

Once the users are comfortable with Mozilla they will never go back even after they are told that they are using mozilla or not using internet explorer.

I am not so happy with this new release - moz 1.7 always crashes when logging on to BOA CC site. The RC 3 release did the same to ING direct site.

Took all the precautions like removing profile, uninstall moz 1.6 etc - but couldn't stop 1.7 crashing.

So I am back to 1.6 - though I don't find any features in 1.7 that warrant it to be "must have" - I am quiet happy with 1.6.

(FICTION * - This was a television episode of the famous "Law and Order" sequel. Mccoy was charging the gun exec when a goon kills scores of people using a converted automatic gun. Don't know which world you are in when you say number portability was nothing new and they should have been able to get the job done. LNP was implemented and enforced for the first time with US carriers during the times AT & T had problems.

I have a first hand experience of working on the LNP issues and no way its as easy as it was said in plain english. Agreed that you might think it as changing some sort of dns information - but the way its implemented and the patchy design as you go approach for the whole thing is really insane.

The whole thing would have been better designed if the war lords at Verizon and other had not banked on getting the mandatory deadline extended. None of the carriers actually believed that the nov dead line would be final - hence none of them actually cared to the design and implementation. Resourceful and gutsy teams at big companies like Verizon and Cingular pulled it through and companies like AWE and sprint paid heavily with customer dissatisfaction.
