When I click on the links that made the final 10 I can see screen shots, detailed information, downloads for the files, etc. When I try to find anything on Velox I get thrown into a loop around web pages that all end up going to the same thing. If Velox would have made it into the final 10 would more information have been included on the page for the game?
Damn it feels good to be a gamer
A real gangster ass gamer plays his cards right
A real gangster ass gamer don't get into console wars
'Cause real gangster ass gamers don't start fights.
At first I was bummed because it doesn't seem like we have many titles out in the US yet...but after looking at release dates we should have closer to 20/21 by that time. I'm glad some software is starting to hit the shelves
Just for fun I tried to remember the last comics that I just pulled off the shelf and bought with no known information about them, etc. I came up with: Ninja High School, Propellerhead and Pitt (or was it The Pitt).
'PS3 will provide graphics indistinguishable from movies.' Spider-Man 2 or Toy Story 2, that's the problem.'
I'm having a hard time finding that quote in this article. Could someone help me find it. Saying that a video game will look just as good as Spider-Man 2 or Toy Story 2 is a very bold statement. It makes my mouth water.....I just can't find it in the article provided.
Maybe someone that has actually read through a few of the Silent Hill and Metal Gear comics could let the rest of us know about the quality. It's obvious that they are going with a theme here (comics based on video games that already have a story, characters, etc, established) so I'm curious as to how good these comics actually are. I mean, it sure seems like the easy way out. Wouldn't it be much more creative to design your own characters from scratch...or is this just easy money?
Second Life uses this same one-big-world-with-different-sections-being-differ ent-servers approach. Like when you fly from one section into the next you're actually passing onto a different server at the same time. It seems to work OK, unless everyone is trying to get to one particular piece of property...then it can slow things down a bit.
I understand the point he is trying to make here but can you imagine someone trying to do an in depth review on the way Polarium for the Nintendo DS accurately expresses the struggle and oppression that the black squares had to face in this puzzle game? A review normally consists of two things: how it looks and how much fun it is. For the most part I just want to know how much fun a game is. If the majority of reviews say a game is a blast to play I'll try it out. Graphics aren't as much of a concern for me. (Vib Ribbon, Katamari Damacy)
I was hoping some of the codes would be a little more interesting. These are pretty much typical codes (minus a few) and nothing that actually seems cool enough to have wasted as much time as this guy did setting it up to get them. They say that these codes were already available when using a cheat device (game genie) so I have to ask, what are the chances of this guy finding some "very special code" that was only intended for the developers/testers and would have never been released to the public otherwise?
Isn't there something about a Telco/Phone Provider being required to provide uptime 99.999% of the time throughout the year? Meaning a phone company is only allowed to be down for like, a few minutes a year tops? That was what we were always told at the last ISP turn ISP/Telco a year or so ago. Of course, they were up maybe 85% of the time throughout the year (although they were new and I think their customers understood that it was kind of in "beta" stage)
Actually I think they just use your pulse to determine how relaxed you are. In the article, "Using the biosignals in their body -- we use heart rate, we use the same technology used in lie detector tests" or maybe that is just to hide the fact that they really use resistance. Yeah, that's it.
.....ok, the point I was making is that all of these girls are good looking....and this was obviously for a reason. Not trying to be a troll or anything.
This is great and all but the first thing I wanted to do was see pictures off all the girls to see how good looking they are. Wouldn't you know it, they are all very attractive. I know plenty of girls that enjoy playing video games and being cute is not the norm....at least in my experience. The level of expertise a female has in a video game is usually higher the uglier they get. Maybe it's just my limited experience in the area but you won't see me challenging the 275 pound female coworker in a game of Quake. She would destroy me. Now, the cute girl in accounting.....I'll take her on any day.
Do you sell Phantsy Star Online with the BBA for the Gamecube? Maybe people don't buy switched Gamecubes because they are using that to play their import/pirate games instead....probably not though.
I remember when my parents finally broke down and purchased the NES complete with Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt. Fortunately for the ducks at the local park, I never found a gun and started blasting away at them. I can't say the same for my little brother and his mushroom eating experiment. If Mario hadn't made it look so cool and fun to eat mushrooms my little brother might still be alive today.
Mushrooms.....they don't make you grow, but they might just take your life.
From the article:
" Better yet, the system can be charged while you play it,"
and
" You can also play the PSP while charging the battery at the same time."
What device with a rechargeable battery can't be charged while you play it? I know my electric razor can't (and it's annoying for sure) but I wouldn't say this is some super feature for the PSP.
I was a fan of DDR before the US arcade release a few years back and after seeing how much money it was pulling in at the metroplex Putt-Putt I decided to try getting into the arcade business.
I went through all the steps, getting a business license, registering with the state and county and found my first machine....an import DDR 3rd Mix Korean machine. It cost me about $1500 for the game and shipping from Korea to get it here. On the same note, a new US version machine was about $7,500. I cleaned it up and worked out a deal with a local store owner and put the machine inside. At times the machine was pulling in over $500 a week. I was splitting the profit with the store owner (a suggestion given by other arcade operators) so it was making me $250 a week at times. On average I would say it made me about $125 a week. This was in a town of 30,000 people about an hour from any major city. People would drive down from the bigger cities just to play it.
I eventually added a Beatmania IIDX 2nd Style machine to the lineup (later upgrading it to 4th Style) and a sit down Neo-Geo 4-slot. They made a nice chunk of change as well but nothing compared to the DDR machine. I ended up selling them off after a few years for more than I paid for any of them. It was a sweet little setup and fun while it lasted.
I wish I could have started my own import arcade at the time but couldn't come up with enough funding to do so. That's my only regret. I had big plans but couldn't get any financial backing. Splitting the profit 50/50 sucked but at least it gave me a place to put the games.
YES!!

They dont know the extend of what we know, and moreover how we know it. They used up all the knowledge that could have been put towards proofreading.

Even though Nintendo wasn't involved in the production of these games, you can't forget the craptastic Zelda games for the CD-i. parnasas.com
