Look, I like DLP, its what I went with myself, so I think DLP may well have a shot...
But you said you are basing this on casual browsing in a circuit city.
Pretty much all the big stores adjust their sets based on what they are pushing at the moment. So the adjustment and tuning of the sets may vary considerably. I've even seen it where they left a clearly broken models (brightness control shot, or no red on part of screen) on display when they had more in stock.
When I called DirecTV, they told me that this unit was currently only available in Los Angeles, and sometime "soon" elsewhere, though they did not have a date.
Not implying that this is, but...
how hard would it be to make a web gadget that would auto-generate an image of a crop circle based on a simple 2-color bitmap.... (image only, don't want something that hacks into automated tractors)...
I'm an Maximo (MRO's main product) end user, kind of interested to see how this pans out. I see they're lumping it into Tivoli, which includes Websphere and DB2.
For those unfamiliar, Maximo (from at least version 5 onwards) runs on an application server that is either IBM's Websphere or BEA's Weblogic, I don't have figures but I'd guess the majority of installations use the latter. This might be a worrisome development for companies that went with BEA instead of IBM. Also, the database normally runs on either Oracle or SQL Server, wonder if we'll see a DB2 version of Maximo in the near future.
In talking with other maximo users, some have pointed out that IBM is more a service company than a software (or hardware) company these days, as such they may well be agnostic in terms of which platform to deploy on.
Most also think that IBM went after them for their IT Asset Management portion of the MRO package, which is actually a relatively new field for the Maximo prodcut, it made its name in the industrial field, both for work order, maintenance, and asset management aspects. Some of the main parts of Maximo product compete with companies that IBM has agreements in place with, such as SAP.
I guess time will tell how that sorts itself out. At MRO's yearly user conference, MRO world, held only a couple weeks ago at the end of July there was zero mention of this from anyone, though IBM did have a large presence at the event.
Tasmanian Devils are being wiped out by a transmissable cancer called Devil Facial Tumor Disease, its a pretty hideous disease that eventually causes the animals to starve to death as they are unable to eat. It is transmitted when Tasmanian Devils fight each other. It is estimated 100% fatal within 12-18 months, it is estimated that over half of all remaining Tasmanian Devils in the wild have it, and it has decimated their population.
Everyone playing EVE at gencon will be sitting around one massive, massive round table in the same game, while wow will just a lot of normal sized tables but a lot of games running at once.
It has Mount Cameroon, arguably the most impressive coastal volcano in africa, which towers over the surrounding terrain, nothing in a long long ways comes close to its elevation.
You can also enjoy a unique boating experience on effervescent Lake Nyos.
I didn't say anything about it being military. Heck, I might be advocating speinding that money on weapons that would kill the enemy before they cause the injury that needs a tourniquet.
51 million in research.... plus who knows what the cost per tourniquet would be.... it is not just whether the amount of effectiveness versus a 25 cent strip of cloth going to save X number of lives, but whether you could have saved more lives by spending that money on something more practical, be it medical or otherwise.
PAX to fill void?

Wonder if PAX could sort of by default become the big gaming convention...
No, a Petaflop is when an animal rights activist throws themselves in the path of a fishing trawler, cattle car or some other vehicle used in the meat or fur industry.
It is similar to, but not quite the same as the terraflop which is more used in anti-logging activities.
Blizzard has probably banned more players than the peak populations of most other games...
What would make more sense is just to transfer the characters over to a "banned" server. Let that economy fight itself out...
Just need a good name for it....

Apple has done this before, right? They used to have t-shirts in the old Mackintosh camp that said something like, "90 hours / week and loving it".
T-shirt (sweatshirt) attesting to this. (wonder if the shirt was made in a sweat shop...)
Paleontology? What isn't NASA telling us?
I mean I know its not just the study of fossils, but still... given what we know this could well be someone with nothing to study up there.
Talk about a proverbial 5th (or 7th as the case may be) wheel on a team. I'm guessing this'd be the prime candidate to have some other duties...
Wonder if this means they're going back to the Gerald Bull type of space cannon for launching...
lets see, 12.5 Billion in sales, and they make a profit of... um... hang on..... they do make a profit on every sale, don't they?
>They should use the Tom Sawyer method
I love that video!

That's just totally google, man.
Lessee. that's an exclamation and an adjective. I'm having trouble making it sound right as an adverb.
On second thought, I think we should use it in the manner the Smurfs used the word "smurf".
The Tivoli division at IBM, not the product...
If they aren't part of that division, then someone needs to update the Wikipedia entry on Tivoli.

new server requires new google maps API key.

map of the region
Also you could go visit Lake Chad before its all gone. Though I'm not sure if Cameroon touches it anymore, given its ongoing dessication...
(I may sound sarcastic, but would actually love to visit these places... they really are unique, and dangerous or not, the kind of thing I'm into...)
will the system need to use DDR memory?

Aside from being pirate heaven, a legit copy of thai windows xp costs about $3.50.
Duplicate names? just stick some farming euphamism on the front of dupliately named accounts...

That's why they [censored] the chinese.
Well, when you leave M$, might as well go do what you want...
