Looks like I have to out myself as a Brazilian, again.
$249 for a computer IS cheap around here also - at least, cheaper. We do get some nice deals (for a Brazilian market) like a full-featured Sempron-2400 for around $500 with Windows XP Home preinstalled. Toss the XP license and you may reach $450 - so $249 is STILL better.
When something (dvd players in the recent past, for example) reaches the $330 (BRL1000) price point, it becomes "buyable" for the middle class working families. Don't try to create a market for the empoverished, starving families around here. There isn't one.
Anyway, it COULD work, IF the product works well - a 10gb hard drive is still nice for word processing and some internet. No one will rip DVDs with this box, I suppose.
As for the processor, it is speedier than the one used in the e-voting process around here (AMD Geode 266 and previously Cyrix MediaGX 133), so no problem. Also there are lots of P100 or P133 in use around here, usually re-tasked to some less-glamourous functions after an upgrade. There are hospitals that use them, I've seen it, inside an ICU nonetheless. It was a pain in the ass to use them (some dipshiat installed Win98 and Office 2000 on the poor things - 32megs of RAM! Yay!) but whatever.
The main problems with this setup are, again, the lack of a NIC and an optical drive. Both are ridiculously cheap (less than $10 each). Dump WinCE, put a Knoppix version with OpenOffice and win every government contract around here (Brazilian.gov entities are in the process of moving toward FOSS). No kidding.
Actually, you are right. I ponied for the "Game of The Year" edition of Half-Life... I DON'T LIKE Half-Life, actually. Gives me a headache and motion sickness... but I do love CS:)
Heck no!! I finally got legit after pirating^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hsampling CS 1.5 and payed a full $10 USD for the boxed "Game of the Year" set. The rest came free through Steam.
Sure, I am in Brazil and payed in Reais (R$30=US$10) but there are options for you guys... I've heard of a store that sells JUST THE CD KEY for $10. Get the rest on Kazaa/eDonkey/whatever, and you are good to go.
Actually, I have only one. The other is my spouse's.:)
I don't know what you guys should envy more, the fact that I am happily married or that I have received sufficient invites for me, my wife and family...
You need 2 accounts for this one to work. Log in both ones, one in FireFox and one in IE.
Make FireFox the default browser. The app ignores that and takes the cookie info from the IE folder.
BUT, when double clicking the damn thing it launches the default web browser, i.e., Firefox. Result -> opens the WRONG account (or better said, checks the wrong default account).
I was running one of these tweaking programs that crashed. No biggie, except that every splash screen now is broken (mostly white, text shows but the nice graphics are just plain white except for the occasional blue bar in the middle).
I cannot activate ClearType, drop-shadows nor transition effects anymore. These options are grayed out. Strange enough, cleartype DO work if I enable it using third party programs like ClearTweak. But nada for dropshadows, including the mouse pointer drop shadow.
I tried basically everything and cannot find how to "undo" this. When I try to run the program again to undo changes it crashes the entire system, forcing a power cycle or at least a cold reset.
I can relate... bought an used A500 for oldgamez and the ups guy may have dropped it during shipping. When I opened the package pieces of beige plastic were dropping from it.
Fsck, I thought.
There was a huge crack in the bottom near the memory expansion slot, the slot cover had been detached and the 3.5 drive was pretty much naked.
Needless to say, everything was working, including the disk ejection button that had been popped out.
Unipeak proxy link
...does it run Linux?

Not that I've tried it or anything, though. (yeah, right)
I believe most files posted would be modded at least +3, Insightful...
PSC 2210, latest drivers.
Even copy/paste the screen and save it as a JPEG file. Prints part of the note and then you get a centered http://www.rulesforuse.org text.
(rejoices and watches the 'puter burst into flames)
Ok, you can officially hate me now.
Help | About Mozilla Firefox... read the fine print!

Anyway, you should have gotten my drift anyway.

Guesss that's a pretty good reason NOT to cheat on her
FPS+PMS=??
At least they are being a good sport. On the front page the center photo caption reads "Site may die soon". This image explains why.

Any help?
Batman vs The Joker vs Alien vs Predator vs WTF?
Nailed it... GM Celta.

I got shocked by trying to reinsert some faulty spark plug cables while the engine was running. Dumb thing to do. ~12000 volts do make a point.
I guess you are not running Windows, right? :)
4ny0n3 sp33k l337?
d4 pa1n!
Try running it in Linux under Windows/SFU under Linux/Cedega.
