In europe these vehicles are not classified as cars and as such do not have to subject themselves to the Euro NCAP.
Recently Top Gear magazine paid for one of these to be subject to the most basic testing - the results were pretty horrific.
If so, they are not allowed to go faster than 40 KM/H. That's the same speed as a moped or scooter may do. I prefer to be in one of those stupid electric vehicles than on a moped when in an accident. Furthermore, if this would really become big, security will improve fast, and city traffic speed will become slower.
why don't we spend our time complaining about the necessity of this hacking?
Because that's a waste of time! Do you really think they would listen?
wouldn't the undeniable skill of these people be better put to use elsewhere?
Not everything in this world is about efficiency or usefulness. And I'm glad about that. They do it because they like to do this. They probably do it in their spare time, just for the fun. And who knows suddenly something useful comes out of it, they start their own company maybe, wait and see.
Well, at least we know there will only be two more releases after "7"... Don't be too thrilled about this. Count for each release 3 to 5 years, then 7 will be in 2010, 9 in 2016 at the earliest, and if that really is the last OS coming from MS, it takes another 10 to 20 years before we're freed. So that's at least 20 years from now.
Wow, 78% of sales? That's pretty impressive, considering how many people are actually using Vista. How representative are these stats if Latvia makes up 4% of all visitors?
The working group is open to the public and costs nothing to join. If you don't like the state of HTML, come over and help make it better. Thanks for the information. I think I'll join. When you register, does that mean my email address and name are public? I've seen this happen on other sites, depending on this I use different mail addresses now.
Scroll up a few posts, and see how the iPhone could do this, if it will be the big hit Apple hopes for. Still, I don't know why they left out Firefox entirely.
Thanks for reminding me!

REAL pirates primarily care about: Can I sell it and get away with it?
REAL pirates primarily care about: Can I SAIL it and get away? Then it would be: "Hasta la Vista!" But it would be more appropriate if those three men wore sailor suits.
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted
My arms are open wide
Cos you know just what to say
And you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much, I love you
So, pay someone a bunch of money, give them a promise of lawsuit protection and voila, watch a small portion of the community shut that vendor out. Then, target the next distro. Even if this isn't Microsoft's plan, it is working out this way. If MS cleans the weed out of the Linux distros this way, let them. If Red Hat, Slackware and Ubuntu/Debian don't follow, it will make the market a lot more clear, and it will help the "good" distros survive.
Office document compatibility. Xandros and Microsoft share the view that competing office productivity applications should, by design, make it easy for customers to exchange files with one another. To that end, Xandros will join Microsoft and other companies that are building open source translators fostering interoperability between documents stored in Open XML and Open Document Format. Xandros will ship the translators in upcoming releases of its Xandros Desktop offering. Does this mean OO is included?
NeoOffice can be quite tricky to use. Or - It used to be quite tricky to use. I believe they've updated the version since I used it. Since version 2 it's a lot faster and usable for the average user. Speed was the main problem with version 1. It still is not as snappy as Microsoft Office though. I'm using it for about two years now. With very large documents it can be difficult to navigate.
Well that depends... do you have a shower? I heard that the golden shower is actually quite effective. Just apply it to your foot, that's all! (Or call Ricky Martin although he probably won't "show":-P)
There must be some kind of trick here, I think. Why is this coming so late? It seems to good to be true, but I really hope it's true:) What bitrate will it be? What will it cost? Will iTunes follow? Why is EMI the latest addition, not the first?
Please note that this article violates 207 Microsoft patents. Anyone commenting on it will be violating a further 703 patents. Except me. I think that 42 will just do. Isn't that the answer for everything? I bet this number isn't a coincidence.
"You're talking about memories." What I see, what I remember, what is happening in front of me, those are three different things, although they might have a resemblence in normal life. It would be quite interesting to see what you didn't see.

1) I hated switching the hotkeys of every app I touched. On my Mac I have the option of using Dvorak - Qwerty. This option leaves the shortcuts as they were. So I suppose all control/command/option key combinations stay as they are. I don't use Dvorak though, and I'm not planning to use it, so I haven't tested it.
I want the iPhone to be just a PDA. For me, they can drop the phone-function, leaving the rest. That would be a great device! They could call it the iTon (well, it's not "new" anymore).
If they migrate to Mac OSX, does that make it less likely that at some point in the future they would switch to Linux? If people are having a hard time convincing people to move from Windows to Linux, isn't the job going to be harder getting them to move from Mac to Linux? It isn't really Windows that is the challenge to Linux, it is Mac OSX. Is it really a great thing for Free/Open Source software that people that many who are migrating from Windows are choosing Mac OSX?
I don't care about OSX (BSD) vs Linux. Both have the same (or similar) underlying structure, which makes it stable and safer than Windows. If people move away from Windows, either to OSX or Linux, that would be a good thing. OSX is the more logical choice, as it is more mature as a desktop system, and Apple has a good name here. I don't care if people don't make the next step to Linux.
I moved from Windows to the Mac six years ago, when OS9 was still the Mac OS but knowing that OSX was coming. I have used OSX to learn how to work with a UNIX-like system. I've tried to use linux then, but it was too much to handle at the time. I'm probably not the typical user, but for my next computer I'm considering moving to Ubuntu.
What if they hit it at the wrong side? Can they guarantee that won't happen?
