Just because a person does not subscribe to the "computers aren't free, so everything else should be" philosophy does not make then jackbooted jar-heads. Prejudice is prejudice, no matter who you are pre-judging or what their nick might lead you to believe.
For every college course I took that required material other than my textbook, had a list that I had to take to the bookstore and buy. A typical lit class would require about 12-15 novels that I had to buy at the bookstore or at regular retail. Same applies here. Post a list of the songs that you need, your job to hit iTunes or buyMusic or your local used CD seller and purchase that music. Why should this be any different than it was with analog medium. If you don't the laws to treat digital media differently than analog, then why assume that you have/should have rights with digital media that you do not have with analog.
yeah, because they can really play so many FANTASTIC games under linux (and don't give me shit about emulators and the like, if you have to jump through those kind of hoops just to play a game, then windows *IS* the better solution for his needs.)
I think you are right.... eMusic redefined unlimited to mean 2,000, why can't the ISP redefine it? I think I will redefine "dollar" to mean one of the little copper colord coins, and I will gladly pay my ISP 50 of them for "unlimited" broadband.
THIS, more than the command line, more than the lack of standardization on desktops, in fact more than anything else, is what keeps most folks from using linux. Its the too damned rude, holier than thou, attitude of the vocal Linux advocate. I realize that they are likely the minority, but they are the ones that EVERY newbie has a horror story about delaing with.
Yes, Mandrake makes installing software easier, but its still not as easy as Windows. Yes, you can name a handful of commerical games for linux that don't require WineX, but I can walk into compusa or best buy or whatever and choose from HUNDREDS of titles on the shelf.
The real annoyance about Linux is listening to stupid fuckwit idiots who think they know it all because they have nothing better to do than remember which freaking conf file has to be changed to set somethign up that should be configurable without reading the freaking manual by using the UI of the program itself.
I use Windows, I use MacOSX, I use linus. I have met hostile users on all platforms. I have never met the sheer number of hostile users on any other platform as I have the vocal linux advocates out there. Maybe the command line brings out the worst in people, I don't know, but there are a lot fo bright folks out there who COULD figure out how linux works, but figure its not worth it, and with this attitude hitting them everyt time they point out a valid flaw, or ask a question, they are right, its not.
Everyone knows that as a server OS, MacOSX, linux, unix, AIX, xxxx, TRS-DOS are all perfect and windows is the only server OS in the world that sucks or has any problems at all. Problems with Mac OSX Server? What are you, a Pro Microsoft Troll or something?
it was 200 TRACKS per month, or about 150 albums.. was still worth it though. I signed up for the jazz catlogue, I stayed for what I found. I'm leaving because of the new pricing.
when I went to buy my first car, I had several issues with the credit report that came back, stating that I had had credit problem years ago. The only problem was that these credit problems were from when I was about 10, and there is no way I had credit problems then. The problem was that I am the 4th (hence my username) and there were credit issues from my father and grandfather on my credit report. I had to show that a problem had been cleared before I could buy the car. I told the salesperson that the problem was my grandfather's not mine, and he said quite simply it is easier to show a final payment statement that it was taken care of that to get it removed from your report, so just show its been done and deal with the credit report later. I guess I should not have named my child the 5th, huh? (luckily his daddy has good credit;-)
carefully examine the wording there. "customer feedback from the entertainment industry"....... And I thought that computer manufacturers were the BIOS manufacturers customers and we were the customers for the computer manufacturers. Since the only "product" Phoenix makes is BIOS code, if the entertainment industry is their customer, then they are now writing code under contract for the entertainment industry. Not that it wasn't obvious before, but this does state it rather directly.
MS lost a lawsuit recently (last few months) involving SQL Server 7. Seems that they lisenced some of the technology for DTS but not for resale, so the company that actually created the technology sued MS.... legally, that would have put anyone using SQL Server 7 at risk of having to pay lisencing to the smaller company (whose name I forget) I was waiting for thm to petition to have the ruling extended to SQL Server2k as it likely shares some code in this area with SQL Server 7. It is quite likely a reaction to THAT lawsuit, not the SCO vs IBM lawsuit.
MS's purchase of a unix lisence from SCO also has little to do with the lawsuit. MS produces a cd full of utils for windows server to provide service for unix machine onthe network (including file serving, etc) which does use some unix technlogoy (obviously) so they are just staying in compliance with the law (or at the very least making sure that they are covered shoud SCO actually win)
no... Declining sales? Must be Napster (or Kazaa or the latest P2P craze), or some other form of internet piracy. It can't be declining quality or declining availability of funds
even distributing or copying songs that are no longer in print is stealing. The analog in the real world are things that are no longer produced that folks want. The price just goes up as you buy the diminishing supply (like antiques) just because I like collecting old movie posters and the original print of the "Day the Earth Stood Still" poster is no longer printed, does not give me the right to find one, have a copy made of it, and then make my copy available for other people to copy. Its copyrighted.
I have had stuff stolen from me as well, but that does NOT give me the right to go back into a store and steal another one just because I have no way to recoup the loss.
You want a way to recoup the loss of stolen items? Its called replacement value homeowner's or renter's insurance. Either you or your parents should have it, if not, its not the record industry's fault that you did not protect yourself from theft.
or the one that mimics a 50's radio
you mean that you have not downloaded FRLinux, the port designed to run on 50's radios.... Aw man, you are so behind the times.
"42.857142857142854% nerd blood flows through my veins" according to the test. Amazing..... 42%, 42... Can you imagine that
GIMP != Photoshop..... not by a long shot, one hell of a long shot.

Am I going nuts or has there been a definate tradeoff between 2D and 3D quality in recent years?"
;-)
No, you are just nuts

can we move the preview and submit buttons a little further apart for the spatially challenged?.....
That should have read 2000 tracks

You envision Dundalk correctly.

that may be their best known song, but the band was formed in 1965 in Jacksonville, FL..... check out allmusic.com
And I am guessing that you don't know as much about the band as you think you do......
from allmusic.com.....
Formed 1965 in Jacksonville, FL
Tired of the music industry ripping you off? Try another way: emusic
I second that! Great Service
Did you say B1?
BINGO!!!!

according to dictionary.com barratry is defined as:
The offense of persistently instigating lawsuits, typically groundless ones.
has nothing to do wiht the follow-through, just the instigation of groundless lawsuits
