what about the bad voice acting ones??

...like Resident Evil 1 for psone?? man that was sooo bad. And their hand gestures didn't make sense to what they were talking about. I remember just laughing at how bad it was... and also watching my friends play, knowing something scary would pop out and watch them jump.
As for intended humour, I would have to agree with a few here that Warcraft has the most original one liners; they use references and spoofs from 'everything'.
Although that sounds like the perfect scenario, I doubt that it will ever happen. There will always be the prosumer XXD series with the 1.6x focal length multiplier, as there will be the 1.3x and of course the full-frame. It obviously isn't a cheap thing to make and the closest Nikon has come is 1.5x on all their DSLR models.
Reason being, they want seperation between all these high-end cameras and if it means only the high-ends get the full-frame, then I think that's how their marketing strategy will stand for a while. There's a reason why Canon has made a "new" lens mount (EF-S) made specifically for the 1.6x multiplier when you consider the new lenses they've just announced (17-85mm and 11-22mm) which equates to about 28-135mm and 17-35mm on a 1.6x respectfully, this standard isn't going anywhere.
What we can hope for is that the 1st generation Full-Frames will be driven down to a some-what reasonable price where a used one perhaps can be picked up for sub-$2000, even that will take a couple years. The 1d, a 3yr old, 4MP, non-fullframe pro dslr camera still goes for over $2000 USD, used! I know technology is moving fast but the market/prices will always remain high for professional gear.
What I loved about ICO was it threw you into this whole new world, it felt cold, it was HUGE and very emersive. I remember parts of the castle where it literally took me almost a minute to run across a path to reach the other end, but it was like the scenic route everywhere you went. The imagery was just so amazing that I could really literally stare at the screen running back and forth and admire this art in motion.
Its one of those games where you want to show it off to your friends, something I'm guilty of when I play a great game.
Now imagine the depth that ICO had but without the confinements of the castle walls - I can't wait for this unofficial sequel even though it may have no relation to the previous story. The thought of a new world with the style of ICO excites me. I think I can easily speak for all ICO fans when I say this makes US all giddy. =)
A sequel to FF:tactics, now that game was a true clasic, it even had cloud in it! square use to be all about contraversy in their storylines, I'm not sure if it was just coincidence that those were the games that rocked (ie xenogears), but what has happened since?
I haven't really heard much, less played any FF's past the first 5mins of FF8 and got bored... oh wait, I played FF:crystal cronicals on GC, but that can no way match classics like FF:6 (3 here). Another appeal were the kickass badass characters in each series and of course, lets not forget about the killer soundtracks.
I think they have the formula for a great RPG still, but have taken some risks that may not have worked to the fullest extent for them, thus backtracking back to their last big success (FF7) and seeing what they can do, they can't possible do any worse. Back in the day, when you thought SQUARE, you instantly related the brand to QUALITY HIT! now all I hear are speculations...
Actually, most of the screenshots released just before, of the fmv is rendered realtime. GT3 is still the best looking and overall best racing simulation to date, and it was a first generation ps2 game to boot!
All these people asking what game can possibly use 50G has missed the point. The blu-ray laser can read DVDs/CDs etc... and just cuz the blu-ray disc is available, doesn't necessarily mean that developers will use blu-ray discs right away!
If a game only requires 4gigs of space, I'm sure they're not going to go out of their way and try to find a way to fill up the rest of that 46gigs, they'll just use a regular DVD! It'll be cheaper too.
What it does, is allows for future expansion when needed.. Just cuz the technology is there to be used, but doesn't mean it has to be.
Ken Kuturagi has already offfically stated that PS3 would be backwards compatible as will the PS4 , PS5 and so on...
Sony has sunk a big chunk of cash into the development of the blu-ray technology. Also on the blu-ray website, it states that the blue laser *can* read regular cd,dvd's as well...
I'm quite sure backwards compatibility with previous ps2/psx games is a feature that wasn't knocked off their priority list
I remember a while back, I think panasonic or yamaha had a cdrom drive that had multiple optical reading lasers.. claiming to be the fastest cdrom drive available at 50 or 60 some odd times.. I don't really remember much, you could probably google it and find more info about that technology...
... we all know keaton will always be the original (yes, even moreso than adam west).. which is why I believe Christian Bale *can* do it, afterall, he was the american psycho... and please... no more robin, he was never cool anyways!
I really didn't have much problem with Val Kilmer... or George Clooney... but when they have villians being played by the most unlikely actors... (arnie as dr. freeze???? what were they thinking??) and then throwing in batgirl??? as WELL as another villian?? oh my god... I'm surprised they didn't bring the joker back!
All this talk and complaint about Sony's propriotary storage format... at least maybe it will become standardized soon after... something sony has tried before with the minidisc, and it worked (to an extent). Seriously... I don't think this is an issue, I don't see anyone complaining about Nintendo using Carts! those are just as propriotary, if not more so...
I can see Sony selling blank UMD discs eventually, to store custom data... plus, the psp has a memory stick slot(if I remember correctly). I can never imagine Nintendo selling blank carts to store media...
for me... it was Metal Gear Solid & Gran Turismo 1 and 2.
I don't know if I was the only one that did this, but I would tape myself playing and record all the awesome CG intros for all the cool games like GT or Tekken, etc, then bring the tape to school and showoff to all my friends and get them all hyped up about the games... those were the days..
Especially puzzle / party games, ie Tetris, where graphics don't really improve drastically to even buy the newest version available. The mechanics of the older games work the same, if anything, the super intense graphics ruin games like tetris and make it too complex.. I'd sleep a lot better knowing I didn't have to pay $50 for the newest tetris release.
Ken Katsuragi (I think that's how you spell it), has previously stated in an interview that PS3 and ALL consoles following will be backwards compatible forever! For as long as Gran Turismo is released on Playstation, I'll for always be a Sony fan...
The sims risque??? I've seen more risque things in music videos... not to mention jerry springer.. ie primetime television. I think the sims is a great tool and game. Besides, how old are these kids? 13-14??... I thought we were taught sex ed back in the 2nd grade (tho it was optional). Have things changed that much since the 80s??? (education-wise).
If anything, the sims could easily be used as an educational tool for parents who are iffy when it comes time to explain the birds and the bees to their kids.. I think kids these days are pretty smart, by grade 6-7, they've already been exposed to a lot more than just pixel sex.
Cheats can be quite effective, especially to police those that DO cheat. Back in the ol' CS days, on my friend's server we had always suspected this one guy who frequented his server of cheating. Needless to say I found one of these "wall hacks" to monitor his actions and the way he played (just from ghosting around and observing through walls.)
It was quite effective to watch as he was able to predict exactly where everyone was (ie shooting through doors or being rather hesitant when going up or down the sewers..etc etc, I think if cheating is such an issue, there could be designated "Watchers" who get the ability to see through walls and observe, just there to monitor the play like referees at a sporting event. Fighting fire against fire so to speak.
But from what I remember anti-cheat software (is punkbuster still around??) has really progressed in the past few years, I guess the same can be said about cheaters tho.
How are those huge PS2 DVDs going to fit into that tiny PSP?
Actually I've read that the psp CAN handle ps2 games and that ps2 games are REALLY easy to port to the psp. the psp will use a sony propietary disc while small has a large capacity (just look at the gamecube's disk).
What size are the PSP discs going to be, again?
The fact that Sony 'has' made the cd AND dvd a standard already, I wouldn't doubt whatever they have planned for the psp wouldn't be far from standardizing too if they really believe that the psp has a good chance of surviving for a long period of time.
Can you please share with us some of Sony's creative 1st party 3D games for the PS2? Thanks.
The best and only game I ever still play on the ps2, gran turismo 3:A-spec. Is that 3D enough for you? I'm sure I'm not the only one who also considers it the best ps2 game, at least in the top 5 list.
"The face contains an built-in camera. Using a 3rd generation NTT DoCoMo mobile phone the user can see through the robot's eye, so it can even fuction as a remote-controlled 'guard robot'."
phht, guard robot my ass! point the camera upwards and you have an upskirt peeping robot running around rampid!!! can't wait till peepingrobot.com arrives.... you know how the japanese perverse culture is, this is the norm!
... and people wonder why rudolph's got a red nose!

Maybe he realized he couldn't pay for 86 hours so he just played till he died... they did say he was jobless.
... Also like the film industry, it's bringing in loads of cash, infact, even more than the film industry is in the past few years.
The cool thing WITH the PS2 is it does have 2 usb ports for such devices as a keyboard and mouse...

.. and it sucks for FPS' but that's what the mouse is for right??
on the downside, I now have an almost permanent indent in my index finger!!
