In Daggerfall the world continued way outside the map - you could reach the edge and then just keep wandering - no invisible walls here. Of course there was nothing useful - no dungeons or cities, but it was interesting to see that the terrain generator just kept going and going...
I still remember buying Psi-Ops cos' it looked great. I got home and the DRM system on it therew a sh1t fit cos... I had the temerity to own a DVD burner. So Psi-ops went back to the store and I bought something else.

Oh god, don't get me started on Auto Level Balancing. Worst idea evar... I mean seriously, at level 25 you walk into a goblin mound to find it totally full of chiefs and shamans. Why do people insist on calling Intellectual Property Infringement piracy? Even those who fight against RIAA/MPAA/Whatevaa use the term. Renaming something you dislike is a blatant first shot in the battle ans we just let them gEt away with it. It's like PETA and "Sea Kittens".

It's called the Structural Integrity Field - a force field running through all the main structures and hull plating. Once it's gone there's no maneuvering except for thrusters as even the impulse engines would shred the ship. It works in tandem with the Inertial Dampers that prevent the crew being smeared all over the nearest wall every time the ship makes a turn...
