Consider the cost involved in production of programming for television channels, and then add the cost of businesses paying for the marketing to pay for that programming. Now add all the people who are watching television because there is "nothing better to do."
It just saddens me to see such an investment in entertainment. Especially since entertainment doesn't have any kind of economic return for the individual. I'll agree that entertainment is necessary for humans to enjoy life, but 1500 channels is beyond excessive.

It reminds me of the mid-nineties, when some company produced a sticker of the likeness of "Calvin" of the Calvin and Hobbes comic strips pissing on various logos. I found this to be an offense to the innocence and family appeal of the original comic strip character.

Really the type of travel depicted in I,Robot, is much more appealing to me. Better Highways and the option to drive in manual or automatic mode.

Great, flying cars, we were promised this decades ago. before someone goes out there and spends a ton of money on this, I want to see the new traffic systems that will be developed to ensure safety.
Think about how easy it would be for a terrorist to get into these. We would have all sorts of new problems.

I agree that Mac OS X is pretty easy to use, and UI is pretty important, but usefullness is a different matter; something OS X could stand to work on if they want to take users from linux.
