    Oh wait, sorry, $1,700 after the OEM Win7 license.

    I'm not personally convinced that I'd be able to force myself to use Windows for a mere $1700... If Microsoft paid me $17000, though, I might make an effort to at least pretend to love^W like^W tolerate it for a couple of months.

    On second thoughts, no. Still not worth it.

    I guess I'll have to just "suffer" continuing using Linux and MacOS, then.... /sigh

    For a geek, both are going to be rife with mods, but the Linux is harder to learn to tweak.

    Dunno about that, exactly... I can tweak Linux to my heart's content; but I can barely open an application in XP without nearly losing my cool...

    Windows must be the most user-hostile OS currently in use. Bar none...

    thats a possibility, but I think any competent geek has its own linux media to do the needed installations. Having a XP partition is just a formality.

    Unless you turn tricks for $15 to pay for your Warcraft "addiction", you're not addicted. I'm rather glad to hear you say so... You see, I have MET people who have skipped work to play WoW; I have KNOWN women who have left their husbands because they would rather play WoW than have a marriage...

    YOU tell me there is no such thing as being ADDICTED to WoW...

    WoW is might not be all it's crack(ed) up to be, but it's not excactly innocuous either. Especially for people with naturally addictive personalities...

    They've done that dozens of times. Races and Classes was originally called Player's Manual back when I was a kid. The pantheon book was Deities and Demigods, or optionally Greyhawk. It's been done and done and done.

    Erm, no, not even close. Certainly no cigar...

    This is the Pre-grab Cash-grab... The real cash-grab will be in the end of June (I seem to recall) when 4E PHB, MM and DMG will be released.

    What issue is with OS X integration?


    SMS integration into the Address Book would be nice. And being able to upgrade the firmware without having to go track down a Windows box...

    But I will admit they made things a hell of a lot better now with "Nokia Media Transfer".

    There was a time Nokia kicked every other phone's but when it cam to robustness, usability and function.

    Sadly that disappeared after the 6310i or thereabouts, coincidentally when they decided to move to S60/EPOC/Symbian...

    I have a Nokia 70 right now, which I'd trade for any other Phone at the drop of a hat, including for Motorola even. And that is saying something.

    The interface is clunky and unfriendly, the experience is slow. Integration into Linux or Mac is a right royal bitch, all issues the 6310i never had.

    Maybe this is their acknowledgment of hearing the wake-up call, but to be honest I'm not convinced.

    This looks rather reactionary, and that means they'll still screw up the user experience.

    Please bring back the old Nokia; who realised Phones were meant to be used, and not just displayed in an effort to make the user look cool.

    Am I the only one who immediately had the name Jack Chick pop up in my mind when I read this?

    I immediately started imaging Microsoft portraying "pirates" as evil devil-worshipping spawns of Satan, preferably in little pamphlets which could be inserted into iPod boxes (we all know only pirates buy iPods, don't we?) by concerned shop owners...
