One difference between the PCEngine/TurboGrafx16 succeeding in Japan but failing elsewhere had a lot to do with the software licensing issues they ran into in North America and Europe. Many of the best games for the PCE platform were licensed from other developers, including SEGA and Hudson. SEGA did not want to compete against it's own games being sold on a platform they made less money on, and Hudson, Taito, Asmik and others were under draconian exclusivity deals with Nintendo of America, meaning they'd have to license their games to another publisher for the TG-16. Lack of games lead to low sales, giving low market share, meaning nobody aside from NEC wanted to publish games for the system, and NEC didn't want to pay fees to license other companies' games when they could put out their own for free.
Xbox failed in Japan because gamers there don't like Madden or FPS games.
Yeah, they should totally try to tell everybody that what they are producing next is what YOU want to buy, and if you don't want it, you hate games and puppies and sunshine. Then, anybody with half a brain realizes that they are being patronized, say a big FUCK YOU and spend their time and money elsewhere, leaving only spoiled 7-year olds to be customers. Really smart business model.
I was working in the electronics department of a Wal-Mart here in Calgary, Canada, when the N64 launched. We had Pilotwings 64 on launch day, and for the three weeks following that when we had no N64 consoles to sell. You couldn't GIVE Pilotwings away. Nobody was the slightest bit interested.
You ask "What do we have?" Well, as far as most geeks go, you have bad breath, dandruff, body odor and severely underdeveloped social skills. The most effective protest would have been to hold up plackards saying"DRM is the computer version of US!!!!!!" Bingo, problem solved!
I always find the irony amusing that most of the people who bitch about "stolen" GPL code are the same ones who download all their media without paying the creators.
I am reluctant to trust the opinions of somebody so dismally unintelligent that they do not know how to use a signature properly. If I gave a shit who you were, I'd have View Signatures enabled. I don't.
I have to disagree with your assessment of Oblivion. The devs have used the extensibility of the game as an excuse to release a poorly balanced, inadequately tested and generally shoddy product. They are fooling the players into thinking it is great to fix all the things the devs culdn't be bothered to fix themselves. A lot like Tom Sawyer painting the fence, really.
It is the PREDECESSOR, not the prequel. A prequel is something that is released later, but takes place prior to the last installment. Morrowind was released before Oblivion, so it cannot be a prequel.
To anyone who has an iPod, changing the interface away from the one Apple has perfected is a HUGE downgrade. Then again, you have an iRiver, where ANYTHING is better than the factory interface. It sort of undermines your point.

The more P.C. cases I see, the more I appreciate my Mac.
Obviously you have forgotten about Knights of the Old Republic 2. Bioware "consulted" on that broken heap too.
Your haiku needs a little work, but the basics seem to be there.

Quick! Call the police! Your spellchecker has been stolen!!!!!
Obviously a spellchecker is NOT what you want your hardware to run.
Well, they don't say it has more features people actually want.

YOU ARE A FUCKING MORON!!!
If it doesn't, all the penguin-molesters will definately be compatible with WHINE.

It seems to me that, if it were any other company, skipping a voluntary conference would not be that big of a deal.

And Bill Clinton invented the Brazillian Bikini Wax!!!!
Sounds like a good trade to me!
Actually, as of abut a month ago, his whole catalog is on iTunes.
Your post proves once again: Nintendo fanboys swallow!
Unfortunately, if they ever showed Mario's ass-crack, all the Nintendo fanboys would be trying to ass-fuck him.
But just imagine how much more impressive they'd be with realistic jiggle physics!!!!!
Here's a suggestion: spend less time fucking around with your iPod, and learn how to use the fucking signature option, you numb fuck!
