If one believes God created us, then one can accept on faith that there are some things which we cannot understand - like how God exists in the first place. We have finite minds, our minds cannot comprehend something always existing, but I know it's true because I'm willing to accept it on faith.
I find it much more reasonable to believe it was created with a snap of the fingers and admit I cannot understand how God could always exist than to believe this Awesome Universe "evolved" exactly the way it did!
Don't forget Texas is trying to pass a "It isn't an income taxes because we are calling it something else" income/payroll tax.
The Legislature tries to pass stupid stuff all the time. It doesn't get through as often as you would think, though - or at least passed without significant modification.
That's why many artists put one of the songs from their album on the radio. I never go out and throw $12 out for a music album just based on the album cover itself - but if I've heard one (or two) of the album's songs on the radio, usually a large number of times, I'll gladly go out and buy the whole album so I can support the artist and listen to the song I like whenever I want - and hopefully be pleasantly surprised by the other songs on the album.
Of course, "Hits" and "Best of" albums kick ass, too.
I was recently given an o-k MP3 player - Sandisk 256 meg - for an early birthday present, and I've found I like the radio almost more than the stored music. Listening to the radio while running around doing chores is great - and I can listen to my favorite station in the car without mom changing the station.:)
I can see how some people wouldn't want one, though. I really enjoy having one, though.
And for those who want a DNA database, what about all the "criminals" in prision, on death row who are adamant about their innocence and are begging for DNA testing, and the prosecutors who refuse their requests saying they had their day in court.
a button marked "I have no idea what this means" and make it the default button.
No, because people won't want to feel stupid. For an "install program" warning, the option should be Ignore, Yes, No, in that order. But at all costs, the window must not be allowed to popup again. The Ignore and No setting should be at LEAST saved for the entire browser session - i.e., until the user closes the browser and opens it up again. If the warning pops up again and again after the user selects Ignore, he WILL eventually click Yes.
Even http://search.yahoo.com feels messy to me compared to Google. If I'm trying to search, I don't care about news. Or my email. So please don't get me two big boxes containing both. Admittedly, you can click the "X" to make those two boxes go away...
But even when I enter a search term and click "Search", the list of results is much more bloated in Yahoo than in Google, imo.

Stupid people don't know that visiting a website means downloading something. If they did, they would probably get off the internet entirely so they don't accidently download that spyware stuff that's all over the news.
I care. When we finally wipe IEs damned non-standard display of HTML and CSS from the internet, I won't have to spend hours and days attempting to get my websites rendering properly in Microsofts piece of crap they call a browser.
That's the main reason I root for FireFox. Sure, no spyware is nice, but for me it's a bonus. That IE thinks they are so l33t as to rewrite the W3 standards makes me angry to the core.
Oh really? Care to argue against the entire statement Mr. Jefferson made?
The First Amendment has erected a wall of separation between church and state, but that wall is a one directional wall; it keeps the government from running the church, but it makes sure that Christian principles will always stay in government.
Thomas Jefferson, President of the United States, January 1, 1802, in an address to the Danbury Baptists
The whole point of the "seperation of church and state" was to prevent the government from running the church, NOT the church from running the government.
Unless, of course, you wish to argue with the one who wrote the Declaration of Independence and had much say in the Constitution, too.
By that logic, you are declaring Evolution a religion... thus, why the hell is Evolution in Public Schools and not Creation? You _do_ realize that you are are declaring Evolution equal to Creation on a scientific scale...
What if I don't send a "From" header at all, only a "Reply-To" header (with someone else's email address?) ? I mean, I'm not saying the message is _from_ the other person, only that replies need to be _sent_ to them. With no "From" header, it's the same as posting AC.
It's Email. No privacy. No assurance that what you are reading was actually sent by who the message says it was sent from.
6) ?????
7) PROFIT!!!
However this probabally wouldn't work if they somehow spoofed the sent address.
No, it wouldn't. Spam that has the sent address spoofed is stupid, though - how are your "customers" going to buy your 1337 \/!@8r@ p!|_|_$?

Time for a new TLD: .sucks.
If Staples would allow for the same online rebate entry system and a 1 week turn around on getting your rebate back, then we're talking progress.
:-)
Anybody say optional payment via paypal?
Nothing to see here either. Please move along.

I wouldn't run away from Texas to Canada yet...

I think you're the only one. ;)

Sometimes, I think this country really sucks.

Father Loki! I thought better of you.
Oh yeah man. It would kick some posterior to be able to use the Gmail interface with my own domains.
What is it? Lame parenting.

I think I speak for all of us when I say:
"I HATE STUPID PEOPLE".
We now continue with our regularly scheduled karma whoring. Thank you.
