The only thing I have against Lego Mindstorms is that the included programming environment SUCKS. The "functions" (MyBlocks) are really just reusable code blocks. You can't pass parameters to them. Furthermore, it's damn near impossible to update a "MyBlock", once you declare a MyBlock, it's saved to the user profile and you can only change it on a per-program basis. And the programming structure in the Lego Mindstorms software is incredibly unlike any other coding language I have ever seen.
Do your child a favor and set up NQC (Not Quite C) for him. It's simple enough, you can actually call real functions with parameters, and the child learns basic programming skills at the same time.
I think the Lego Mindstorms set is awesome, heck, I have 3. But the programming environment included is really, really lame.
I hope not long. The only reason I use MSN Messenger is because I tried Yahoo! Messenger, and it installed a bunch of crap I purposely told it not to, as well as adding to my right-click dialogue box "Email with Yahoo! Email", and also because I'm not about to have anything to do with AOL.
Believe me, the minute there is Gmessenger, I'll be the first one downloading it and convincing my friends to do the same. Google is the only large company I semi-trust nowadays.

Would it be possible to build an XUL Chat Room, requiring only that clients be using FireFox?
I was thinking about creating a Java-chatroom, from scratch, but the room is only for my friends and I, and we all use FireFox exclusively, so it's not a problem.
The problem is, not everyone agrees with your controller remark. I absolutely love the Controller S. It kicks ass, and it feels like the Xbox Controllers were designed around Halo / 2, and not the other way around.
As for Halo 2 being ported to PC, I'm sure it will be. My gut instinct tells m Fall of Next Year. We'll see though.
FYI, I have yet to play Halo 2. But I can't fucking wait.

I'm currently saving my meager allowance up to turn one of those thing's into a Linux Server; I don't even need a monitor / keyboard / mouse, as I'm going to SSH into the thing with my Windows Laptop.
No, I hadn't really noticed, although now that you mention it, Hulk / Helboy rings a bell. Not that I've been paying attention. Most of the crap that comes out of Hollywood is, well, crap.
The first time I have actually bought a recent Hollywood movie was the first Spider-Man. I liked that one so well, I actually went and paid to see the second one at the dollar theater: It was certainly worth $0.50 per ticket, although the popcorn is not worth $10.00 per bucket.

I can't help but feel like this is a cash-in on the recent Spider-Man movie franchise's popularity. Both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 have done really well, and it seems to me like they are just trying to milk the superhero thing for everything they've got.
Of course, I'm willing to be proven wrong. Give me a good old-fashioned B - Popcorn movie with decent Special FX, and an interesting Trailer for the film, and I'll certainly be in line.

They then send you to a site that LOOKS legit, and you then enter your information or even just your username / password. The phishers then have your account information, and they are free to do whatever they please with it.

Technically, someone could hand you a completed, wrapped, original Halo 2 game today. But they can't just throw them around the world as they come off the production line... they have to release them all at once so that the public doesn't get mad.
They have not once pushed the date back. Every rumor about release dates, aside from the official one at E3 2004, were just that, rumors. Mostly ones generated by gaming sites and whatnot.
As for trailers, you're nuts. Of course they want to tease us. It's called marketting.
