The biggest delay is from the way Explorer handles viewing of folders and files. By default, when you view a network share every time you even move the mouse SMB data is transferred, which in VPN and low bandwidth networks can cause delays.
To disable it in XP, open Folder Options - View - Managing pairs of Web pages and folders - Show both parts but manage as a single file.
This kills that excess traffic and should help improve browsing. Alternatively, accessing the share through other means (such as FTP) will help as well.
Except that when you mount it with the "safe" password and you don't specify that there is an enclosed hidden container, when you stuff it with files the hidden container is potentially overwritten and corrupted.
To add files to the safe container you have to provide the safe password and the hidden container password so the software can identify the limits of what you can store. Without it, you might as well not have a hidden container at all.
The truth is that another hijacking is unlikely to happen.
Maybe, but a recent survey (a kiosk at Smithsonian Air & Space - July 4, 08) says that out of 29,319 people, 11,300 believe that the current airport screening process should be more stringent than it is.
So planetary destruction isn't guaranteed, though 10^29 Joules is an incomprehensible amount of energy. Saying it was 100 billion gigatons of TNT might as well be "a gazillion tons"... though I wonder if that's a metric ton or an imperial ton.
Yes, but it is hard to come by the clients and servers without similar licensing restriction or TCO.
If you're going to spend money on something, might as well be the product with the widest base for support. If there was a free, opensource Microsoft killer, I would gladly implement instead and purchase support as needed. The problem is that the products available unfortunately do not provide what Microsoft does, e.g. unified messaging, public folders, mobile syncing, etc.
You can combine products to get similar functionality, but now instead of three or four products by Microsoft you have eleven or twelve across multiple vendors. Thats the problem.
Outlook uses RPC/MAPI to connect to Exchange while most opensource products rely on IMAP or POP. MAPI is the native API for Exchange interfacing and supports feature rich options that IMAP can not support (shared calendars, public folders, etc.) Additionally, Outlook has a wider base for third-party applications and a tight integration with Microsoft Office (duh) that provides options that are hard to resist. Replacing Exchange isn't that easy either as we have a mobile phone environment to support for syncing via "push" (windows mobile) and a PBX that utilizes Exchange's Unified Messaging.
Believe me, I tried to find a comparable open source product as I do, and do mostly successfully, with most of our applications, but in most business environments there still is not an Outlook or Exchange killer.
Actually, ID doesn't help.
This guy had a false death certificate submitted for his name and is still having problems with it. He finally was able to get his accounts unfrozen, his marriage official, and a new ID card, but only after months of calls and visits to UK ID agency. To this day with his son, he still gets letters of "fraud detection" whenever they try to do something that piggy-backs on the ID system.

Agents and standing is all fine and dandy if you want to play the game without other players, but to really have fun you need to join a corporation who has a presence in 0.0(outside of empire and CONCORD control.) There players make the law and its not uncommon to see large fleets of ships made out of 1 month old players flying tech 1 frigs taking out battleships. Outside of empire is where the fun is at.
Not really. It is just a profile that features an avatar that you can create, similar to the sims. You can't play with them, care for them, etc. Most you can do is organize them by their traits (color, gender, etc) and enable the 'mingling' function which allows your miis to mingle on other wiis with Internet access. And when I say mingle, I mean wonder mindlessly around your screen.
I wish there was someway for me to use a fingerprint scanner or embedded RFID - that way I could get first post!;-)
While I've never used it, I have heard a few interesting things about it.
Try FingerFox: an extension for Firefox that supports Microsoft's fingerprint reader. (Google translated from French)
Because the second the election is over, it's back to business as usual. NO ONE should get credit for election season posturing.
This is not always true and in fact, I'm willing to say it probably hardly ever happens. If a politician wants to keep his job and be relected the next time around, he better do what he says he is going to do. Or at least make it look like he is trying.
Because a senator is making a little noise to the public, increasing awareness, and pointing out how that what the NSA, ATT, and the Bush Administration did quite possible violates our Constitution?
Who cares if it is election time or not? Just as long as progress is being made.
Allright, I'll bite then. I don't like the smell of alcohol or the taste. I do drink it on occassion in social environments but never alone for my own self pleasure. Of course you can cover the flavor of it by adding other substances, but it still has the taste of alcohol. I have tried various beers, mix drinks, and even flavored moonshine so I have an idea of how it tastes in various mixes. Also, I have never met anyone who did like the taste right off. Therefore, I agree that alcohol is an acquired taste.
I spelled my name wrong on the application (but close enough that it was still delivered to my desk- I gave them my work address) and made up an SSN... So I get to stick it to the man! I get my Diet Pepsi 24 packs at 2 for $10 (non card holders pay 6.99 a piece!!!) and they still aint got my SSN
You are right about MMOGs with other friends though...that's downright impossible to keep together!
Unless it's Eve-online, in which case all you have to do to advance is to be sure to log on and set it to train a new skill when the previous one is complete. One of the many benefits of being able to train without having to play.

It is Imperial.

Probably was photoshopped off.
Here is another one with a collar around her neck.
And here is another one but nothing really telling there.
Striker....Striker...Striker..Striker! *BAM* Ted Striker?
I am intrigued by your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter^wband.
I do as well (Greenbelt.)
Speedtest.net tested against Frederick, MD ~13Mb down.
Sites just a little further away, such as Ohio, give me ~5Mb down.

I have not seen any evidence on the Dell website that I can select Linux as an OS when I'm buying a computer
Your selection of FreeDOS or RedHat:

This begs the question: have eBay now stopped (or stemmed at least) their ubiquitous Google search ad campaign?
No, it is still there.
Holy crap! I didn't realize it had this much blood and gore. Kind of a Blood and Doom combination.
Guess I'll have to buy it now...

And we should care, why, exactly?

Which is bad for both the Canadian and U.S. economy.
I wonder what he uses...*cough*GDS*cough* :)
Or perhaps he is using his own software?
