  1. Zuckerberg is a Tool on Mark Zuckerberg Wants The Government To Help Police Internet Content (bbc.com) · · Score: 3, Insightful

Zuckerberg is the typical tool who calls upon the government to bail him out of a problem he can't solve himself. Maybe he should check from the original Facebook authors he stole the code from maybe they have ideas he cant seem to come up with. Better yet lets close down Facebook. Its not the internet that is the problem is the CEO's with no technical aptitude that need to go.

Isn't it ironic that it takes a women to have "the balls" to address issues that old white men in Congress can't seem to fathom? They must be pretty busy addressing women's health issues given all their experience.

How about we just lower our tax rate to 15%? We would then be a favorable place to have business and while not cashing in on $0 at the higher rate we would at least cash in on some taxes.

Is it a question of extra staff for a large organization or the right technical talent and paying for it? I know CERN does not use support and they have a fairly large publicly known OpenStack environment. However there seems to be this idea that if it is research or academia it does not count toward a true production environment.

  8. Ridiculous on Fedora To Get a New Partition Manager · · Score: 0

This is the reason why Linux will never make it to the desktop. The distro's spend far too time changing out tools for the new fan-boi based ones instead of maturing and refining the existing ones. Hey I have this new tool because nobody had the common sense to fix the bugs in the previous tools.

Today's grading seems to be based on if they "try" rather then actually do the assignment correctly. That type of grading is objectionable based on the teacher. Since everyone has a different opinion of "trying", your mileage may very.

There's not much that can actually be done with an SSN and nothing more. A potential id thief needs a lot more to work with in order to acually do some real damage.

You forget that with a little Google action, one can probably gain that additional information to make the Social Security number worth something. Having the name and SS is a start and it would only a little sleuthing to get the rest.

Further, the computer hardware and software makers make everything so easy to just plug in and access the internet, that a user is never required to really understand the security perils and risks.

What we need is a Computer License. Something similar to a drivers license, where you go and take a written exam and then take a hands on exam to determine if you are capable of securely operating and understanding a computer that is connected to the internet's.

Oh wait, that would probably not work. After all, there are millions of licensed drivers in this country and many of them still cannot drive safely.
