    just a FYI, that 6 million users of WoW is not current users, its overall accounts... many of which are idle / expired.

    They've lost so many customers to poor server stability that they know a con isnt going to bring any market share back. An expansion pack will... ...if they can increase their service stability in the mean time.

    a little off topic, but another example of this is americans buying trends in cars. They buy the GM, Ford and the cheaper Chrysler products because they are cheap, not because they are a good value, and definetly not because they are good quality.

    Personally I think 3meg cable is worth $30 a month.. 50? not so much.

    I can see 90% of the people receiving a Linux Live CD putting it into the cdrom on their XP box and expecting it to auto-run. nobody would know to put it in and reboot.

    got to the polls at 7:00am and they were having people re-vote already..
    The felt tip pens they were using were bleeding through the paper ballot and onto the other side causing the reader machine to not accept them.. great..

    so I stood in line for an hour and a half to voice my vote anyway.

    I think they meant that in the same way as it was easy to port windows games to the first xbox since it used DirectX and an NVidia card.
    if microsoft does a good job with the OS on the next xbox the porting process should be just as easy.

    house training huh... my wife and I have 2 cats.. first thing ya do is drop them in the litter box when you bring them home, scratch their paws in it.. and you're done. they are trained for life. havent had an accident.. ever.

    I know a lot of sony camera's only work with the proprietary software.. IF you use a USB connection.

    However, if you actually go out and buy a 1394 cable, it works in all applications just like any other DV device would.

    Although, the electronic control stuff is bad ass, with most of it (on VW and Audi anyway) you can plug in your laptop and go to town with the settings raising and lowering it on command.

    have you ever actually released software into the wild?

    I came across a bug in one of my active enterprise systems today that I had never seen before, and none of my 1500 users had reported it. It would have never been found had i not been just screwing around with random things.

    Give the MS guys some credit here, they have a lot of things to go over with constantly looming deadlines. You can't test EVERYTHING.
