Unless you have more than three. The usenet scraping user described earlier would most likley have more than three and so would still be liable for prosecution.
as many touchpad users on laptops already know. I only have two buttons on my Tosh, and it's set by default to emulate a third button when you press both together.
I was stuck on a laptop with a whacking great bar between the mouse buttons once... clearly not designed by a Linux user...

No, just ANH so far. Normal loss of life/limb she can cope with (she's seen plenty of Buffy and she loves the new Dr Who) but that scene was *very* graphic.
I pondered taking her and then asking her to look away at that bit, and she would, but I know that'd make her even more curious.:)
Slightly off topic, but this guy mentions that his kid has watched RotS twice (I think it was).
My four year old girl has started expressing a MAJOR interest in all things Star Wars since seeing, for some reason, a Darth Vader poster (I hope that doesn't say something disturbing about her bugeoning subconscious).
I have sat with her and watched A New Hope, which she thoroughly enjoyed, but having seen Sith myself, I think the scene of Anakin's "disfigurement" was a wee bit much for a child of her age, and I don't know how mature this guy's seven year old is, but is ANY child of that age ready for something like that?
The D Cube is worth looking out for if Ogg Vorbis floats your boat. They're Koren (I think) so they're not that easy to get hold of, but they play Ogg Vorbis just fine, and the site just doesn't do justice to how pretty they are. They're smaller than an iPod Mini.

That's weird, because I'm having no luck running it on my SuSE Linux machine.
HELLO? Welcome to the world of multiple platforms!
about the only things I can agree with you on are The Andromeda Strain (one of the few decent Crichton adaptations) West World (oh, look Chrichton again) and Logan's Run.
I mean, you're using Sliders as a basis for judging what constitiutes good sci-fi? Really? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan, but highbrow entertainment it aint.
Personally I think it's a pretty good time for Sci-fi at the moment. The Serenity movie's coming out soon, Dr Who is on TV again (and it's awesome), I'm loving BSG so far, and lots of people are getting excited over Lost and Atlantis, not that I've watched either.
Looking back to last year, when the world looked pretty grim - no Buffy, no Angel, Firefly and Farscape cancelled and seemingly nothing rushing in to fill the void - I'm grateful for what we're getting now, and I want more.
Yup, my old laptop has a big greyish blob on the wrist wrest attesting to the fact that you should never attempt to remove nail polish while using the computer.
... it would have been shite, and I speak as a very-long-standing Eddie fan. For my evidence, I offer up every single film role he has taken on, all, unanimously, crap. The man can't act. He's a hysterically funny standup but he. can't. act.
Oh, forgive me, he was excellent in Lenny (the stage-play based on the life of Lenny Bruce) which I saw, and in which he played a... stand-up comedian.
But no. Now that Osama bin Laden showed the way, everyone has to imitate violent extremist fundamentalist Arabs now, don't they? Treat everyone else with hostility.
I'm sorry, what? Believe me, you can't blame the Arabs for this one. This sort of bloody minded attitude has been prevalent in the US, and indeed the UK, or anywhere else, for... well, ever, really. Ever since the first caveman said the second caveman couldn't pay for that wildebeast with his cavewoman because she wasn't hairy enough. The only difference is that "in a post-9/11 world" (there's that meme again) everyone can use the fact that it's a "post-9/11 world" as an excuse.
IBM don't need to buy Novell. They are huge corporate allies, and while IBM will make damn sure Novell never go under, they have no interest in owning the company outright.
IBM have been very careful to keep an appearance of having a platform agnostic view. They ostensibly funded the acquisition of SuSE Linux because they didn't want one dominant player in the Linux market. In reality, IBM owned much of SuSE behind the scenes already, so it was money out of the left pocket and straight back into the right. At the same time, they assured that SuSE became a very competitive player in the Linux marketplace.
IBM have their finger in many pies. They have very profitable businesses based around Red Hat Linux, and Windows. Don't forget that way back when they dumped support for OS/2 in favour of Windows when they realised which was the more profitable business.
They don't own Microsoft. They don't own Red Hat. They don't own SuSE, or Novell, nor will they ever need to. Won't stop them far outlasting all these companies.
Sony explicitly outlaws any modifications to their PSP. If you don't believe me, check out page 15 of the manual where they state, "No authorization for the analysis or modification of the system, or the analysis and use of circuit configurations, is provided.
I'm not sure this counts as outlawing, and in any case this is a fair use issue, if you bought the console, you bloody own it, you can do with the hardware what you like. Wouldn't like to be the test case though...
Desktop Environment Standardisation

Weirdly, Linux users have by-and-large standardised on two desktop environments, KDE and GNOME, and they function alike enough for apps to be completely portable between the two. Take, for example, all the people that run Evolution on KDE (there's a lot).
The diversification of desktop environments is not what's stopping companies developing for Linux. As yet there's no viable business need, and the areas where there is enough demand (for example, Office applications) the free software alternatives are good enough to, if not kill, then certainly maim demand for commercial alternatives (witness the death of Corel's Wordperfect for Linux).
No. The old Top Gear was about the cars. They tested cars, and gave viewers information about cars.
That's exactly right. The thing you forget to mention is that what you just described is INTENSELY BORING, which is why the viewing figures for the old Top Gear slumped and it was taken off the air. The current Top Gear is good entertainment in and of itself, and is accessible to people who actually aren't all that interested in cars - my wife and I watch it together.
If you want facts and figures about cars, get the magazine or use the internet. This is an entertainment programme, not a factual programme.
Oh, yes, lest I forget, Clarkson and Hammond as well as being knowledgable about cars, are also good TV presenters, which is why they are all over the BBC and Sky. Tiff is a lousy presenter with no star quality whatsoever and isn't pleasant to watch, which is why he is relegated to "five" and doing TV advertisements.
