  3. Re:So What? on Using GPS to Track Teens · · Score: 1

Its OK for you to track your child and not some other group because said other group isnt a guardian and should have a warrant in order to be tracking said child. That said, I agree with the grandparent. I'm on the other side of the spectrum. In my senior year of highschool I routinely drove the family car, I'm in college now and still do. Had my parents decided to track me via cell phone in highschool I would have considered it insulting and demeaning. After all, if they trust me to take out the car, then they trust me to drive properly. If I dont drive properly on my head be it.

as for others using this information, in addition to guardianship issues I talked about above, this is a question of right of privacy. A service like this has a lot of potential abuse inherent in its design. The grandparent didnt say he was wncouragin his kids to drive illegally, he said he was concerned about possible abuse of the information.

anyways, back to studying for finals

unlike you or me they don't have the technical know-how to fix their computer or the knowledge to know how easy it really is to do. So they think that they have to take it to $300/hr specialists to fix it. At those rates they decide its cheaper to order a cheap new dell. I have a friend who did this a couple weeks before meeting me a while ago and she explained the whole process to me after I fixed her machine with a combination of spyware balster, spybot, adaware, and a couple registry tweaks. how about playing his own father or uncle or something? Lucaas did this with Lukes uncle owen, who plays his own father in the prequels. Not to mention he couldve played an entirely different character. I'm not saying Ford's presence would have saved the new trilogy by itself, but an actor of ford's credentials could afford to stand up to lucas and try to stop some of his more terrible ideas (like jar-jar). As a previous poster has said, its not that lucas shouldnt have been involved (he did create it after all), he just needs someone to keep his visions in check. An actor like ford would have managed that

I've said this before and I'll say it again, being an excelent researcher does NOT necessarily make one a good teacher. I go to college at a very active research university and some of the best profs I've had arent the nobel prizewinng (we have some too) bigshots. Sometimes they are, but not always. Sometimes it's the person who isnt the master researcher. Hell, I have a class this year taught by the TA because the prof got into an accident and is out for the semester, I didnt drop the class (nor did anyolne else) because the TA is a damn good teacher in her own right. A degree proves reseacrh ability and knowledge of ones field, not necessarily the ability to pass on that knowledge to ones students. So tell me about how many good teachers you've had, not how many of then won nobel prizes.
