Ohh ya thanks.. I'm not quite out of highschool yet, and have been wanting to get into the IT world for quite a while, and this is the EXACT kind of commment I need to hear! It just makes me feel soo happy, and gives me that little warm feeling...
Ohhh noo, not the DRM! I wonder how long it will take DVD Jon to crack this... two weeks and fifteen lines of code? Two days and one really long line of perl? Place your bets now!
"We're all about automation now, my email server automatically lights on fire when I get get my fancy email spam."
I can remote-detonate any server I want, almost anywhere in the world! I just have to word it all fancy like so it is accepted by Zonk or Timothy. (Use alot of links for the best results.. pics and vids accelerate the proccess)
^_^ (And yes, I stole the smiley ending from TripMasterMonkey.)
"simple, just release your virus with an EULA. if you use it, the creator assumes no responsibility. if the creator goes to jail, it means EULA's fail and thus hell will freeze over, the earth will start spinning backwards, and mass anarchy will take over the world."
I thought that Microsoft would then... ohh, nevermind. I just read the part about hell freezing over.
Ya, but if you held them all in one corner, and picked up all the enemy commanders, you could have the whole map to yourself. Even better is that you let only one of them flurish. Destroy all production buldings (nano factory, vheciles and airbases) and then destroy all the commanders over they remains, while a nuke hits. Nothing like THOSE fireworks:)
I loved this game! I loved it when you would start working on your metal reserves, and get a plant up and running. You start on construction of a vehicle and.. wait.. where is my commander!
The strategy was to make as many flying transports as possible as fast as possible, and have them go "load" up the enemy commander, ceasing their production of anything. It was fun! As long as you weren't the sucker who got carried away XD
Since when is open source bad? I don't care if it has to be virus like to get the means. If you don't want to use open source code, then go buy something from someone.
If open source is the matrix, then plug me in baby!
Seriously.. aren't they a bit late? AMD and Intel came out with the dual cores months ago!
All that is going to happen is another round of overpriced hardware.
Now, you Mac fanboys (Yes, all three of you, including that one guy who claims he has tried it), don't get in a huff. Admit it. Apple's hardware is way overpriced. I don't want to go along with the bashing, I'm just saying. I don't like the OS that comes with the hardware either. I use (K)Ubuntu Live CD on a Mac first thing. I'm not saying its the worst (heaven knows its atleast a little more secure than Windows) but the GUI is just that: Too Graphical!
Me? Why so mad? I'm just sick that the Ipod has the market. It doesn't have an easy to access format, and tries to lock your music to you. Everyone knows the disadvantage of an Ipod by now, so I don't think I need to go on.
You claim that "it is a successful business model", but I know two people who own sports games. One, is myself (it was a gift), and the other got it bundled. There are alot of small and obscure movies that make it onto the big big screens. I'm sick of games that have basically squat different. I like Halo yes, because it was a good game. I don't like NFL anything, because it is boring. It's the same thing as last year, except for the new names! That, and the fact that this is the only one to have, ohh, I dunno, armpit hair. They aren't innovating with these games, they are just trying to suck money with them! A great set of innovative games were the Prince of Persia games. They were interesting, fun, and had action, puzzles, and plot. The new Madden or NFL game doesn't have squat on that. It's not just the NFL games. It's not the EA games, or the sports games. It is the boring redundant pieces of crap games. Pokemon is an example, and so is just about EVERY game made off a movie. Look at the LOTR games. I couldn't jump a one foot ledge because of the physics. I could kill(wound) Nazgul, take out ten thousand orcs by myself, but I couldn't jump a two foot ledge. Doom3 - boring. Scary yes, but rather boring. Walk around a corner and guess what! A monster. Just like last time. Yes, there were changes, and it differs, but not alot. The games industry needs to change on that respect.
I have done alot of digging to find games I like. Yes, I like alot of mainstream games, but I also like Uplink, Starscape, old good ones like Abuse, there are tons! I play games I like, and I know everyone isn't going to agree on whats fun and whats not, but the same peice of crap ten times over with new graphics isn't fun. If I can guess what I need to do next, before you even give me a hint, it shouldn't be there.
Look at the Zelda or Metroid games. Zelda the Minnish Cap was EASY. Metroid Fusion was simple! The orriginal was harder than Fusion. A link to the past was better than the Minnish Cap. I agree that Ocarina of Time was _GREAT_, but windwaker wasn't.
I just think that there needs to be some change. If you can't see that, then you will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes:)
Seriously, this is a good thing. I'm sick of people playing monopoly instead of making better products. I love AMD chips. I say more power to them!
Now, how do we go about suing Microsoft (again)? I don't want just media player gone, I want MSN Explorer (Yes, it is included on defualt XP installs) IE, and Outlook off the next version of XP/Longhorn (when it comes out). I'm sick and disgusted with the quality of computing now days. It needs to change.
Actually, no I haven't. But uplink was SUPERB. I also really enjoyed the Prince of Persia series. HL2 was good, along with its mods.. the UT series was good also, albeit rather plotless. There are good games yes, but most all of them aren't even worth the money. I do however enjoy those rare gems:)
Go nethack! OSS Dungeon scrolling, text based adventure!
Kernels do it from the console.

Hmm, maybe it is because en-GB sucks (read: wrong), so no-one bothers to update it fast? :)
Not me :(

He is too busy reading slashdot, what else!

Aren't they a bit late for that one?
No, I am Spartacus.

Hey, I had that qoute about an hour ago! I knew it all lines up somehow!
