If the US government wants me to trust them, they need to appear to be trustworthy. I don't know about you, but I live in Texas, and I know for a fact that Culberson (R-TX) has fabricated terrorist plots to get the attention of conservatives. I don't trust the government, no. Not when they will flat out lie for your vote.
The whole embryo thing makes that funny on so many levels.
Oh, I can put a serious note on this, too:
Hey, when's Bush going to ban studying these embryos? They might have one day grown up and become productive members of society; after all, God created all creatures...
I turned down every guild offer I got that listed Friday night as a raid time. Friday night is get drunk and maybe at 4AM when I turn up with all sorts of strange substances in my system I'll go around DKing civilians because they said I looked drunk.
yup. 12-year-old: "Mom, I want the killerNIC because it will make me more hardcore and I will be able to pwn more newbs." mother: "I don't know what you're talking about, but if it will get you to shut up so I can get back to my whiskey, I'll buy it." The kid will go on to tell all his friends "I've got a KillerNIC!" and they'll say "oooo, I don't know what that means but it sounds so hardcore" and one snot-nosed brat will say "Oh yeah? We'll I've got a 10 megabit super gigaflop bytemaster 200001 with PBX capabilities!" and the kid will go home, defeated, at least until he asks his mom for that nonexistent coil of dogshit.
*download PC game* "Enter CD Key" *enters CD key gotten off of illegal site* "Incorrect CD Key: already been used" *enters 50 more, all incorrect* *gets angry, opens up zsnes and plays chrono trigger*
Now opens the problem for MS: It's in the best interest of game designers to have their games perform well on as many systems as possible, and the more resources winblows consumes, the worse these games will perform. What happens when they figure out that performance under linux/ogl is better because of the reduced overhead? Perhaps then we'll see a bigger shift to the open source desktop yet again, and maybe get some decent support this time. We're already seeing institutions which use speed-critical applications beginning to use open-source more often (seismic visualization), how soon before Adobe starts publishing their imaging and real-time editing applications for the *nix-ish menace? Either that or most consumers with half a brain will just say "well, fuck that, I'm sticking with XP."
What are you talking about? Console copyright violation is more than just dumping roms... There's modchipping and loading burned games, downloading roms and playing them on emulators, and furthermore, it's just as easy if not easier to jump to your favorite rom repository and grab Chrono Trigger as it is to search whatever "serialz" site you frequent for a working Quake3 key.
Most people who pirate PC games also pirate console games, sorry to burst your bubble there, Kevin. Not to say that I've ever done any of this, but the same person who gets a bogus CD-Key for Doom 3 is probably also going to use the PSOLoader to pipe his/her favorite gamecube roms to his console, or install a modchip in his xbox, or have a library of every game ever published for Dreamcast...
Or, um, Wine? It's sad that MS hasn't pursued it, because if they had, then they might *gasp* be productive in the open source community by contributing patches to the wine project, since that seems to me like the better way to go.
It seems to me that the general consensus among users when FC was released wavered around "It's redhat minus the money behind it", what improvements in package management, distro consistency (path standardization), and configuration systems do you forsee preventing FC from becoming what some have called "The most craptacular peice of shit since Caldera OpenLinux"?
I've earned mod point to say just this: Zonk, nobody gives a shit about your stories. Go beg to scuttlemonkey so he can take his job back and then go fap in front of your poster of Steve Ballmer you fat MS fanboy.
This is completely non-unique and there is so much prior art behind it. Hey, let's look at qdb.us, they provided a service in exchange for adwords revenue! What difference does it make if you serve computers for ad revenue? Not to mention the huge implication of legitimized monopolism implied in patenting a fucking business model.
"Scientists discover great copper dome is the sky, space program ends" "Scientists discover that man was created and did not evolve" "Scientists discover dinosaurs never lived, were just a hoax"

Monacle-bearing man: "Pip pip, time for a spot of Myst, eh good chap?"
Stiff-upper-lip man: *pushes shuffleboard puck* "Right-oh."

BBC duped the birthday of the internet!
Now we just have to wait for the birthday of the dupe so they can dupe the dupe's birthday.
"Dupe, dupe, dupe, dupe of earl..."
Goes the same way as betamax- straight to the toilet.
This is offtopic but,
It's "What happens when The Unstoppable Force hits The Immovable Object?"
I'm sure there are Blizzards with their own network storage, but I don't know about Frost Nova...

Thanks for installing MAME on my workstation, sysadmin! (plays MVC2)
If anything, we have three possible cases since it's pretty much stipulated that he bought the dvd:
Hogan downloads torrent before owning the dvd:
If there is zero damage to the MPAA, do they still deserve damages?
Hogan does not download the torrent and owns the dvd:
Suit dropped, MPAA gets their shorts sued into oblivion.
Hogan downloads torrent after buying the dvd:
Suit tranforms into a fair-use debate.
I personally would like to see a good fair-use case.

This is what I hate about database programming. You have to look at STDs and operate with CRUD all day.
Will Duke Nukem Forever also be image-based?
