Personally I'm more worried about the Daleks. Been a long time since I saw the doctor...
Besides he's probably occupied administering swine flue vaccine at the moment.
I had one last week from a person who said, "I'm so scared, my only friend is my little dog. When should I put it to sleep so it won't suffer?" And I don't know how to answer those questions.'"
Tell them to go ahead as planned. A few less nutcases to worry about for the rest of us;)
What if we build the ultimate computer to answer the question of "Life, the universe and everything".
What if said computer ponders the question for seven and a half million years, and then comes up with an answer close to but not quite exactly 42.
Then we know for sure that the CPU has it's own Pentium bug.
So what you say is that i have to wait 80 years before buying the ultimate computer without feeling that there is just some new platform around the corner that will make my $2000 gaming rig look like a pocket calculator?
But if it's found in airport security you might have to consume it to prove that it's safe.
The same way you have to take a sip from bottles of fluids you carry.
I think we need to define in which direction this alledged bow-tie is supposed to spin before we klaim that it does not

The best feature of a wireless mouse is the built in UPS. Sure the computer is as useless as a brick when the powers out, but I can rest assured that my mouse will work for hours.
I actually think that the Swedish railway service already bought the beta of this system.
since it is in beta there are some minor bugs; most notably it tells the railway workers to frown and shout a lot.
Guess we have to wait for the stable release...
Soft-bodied, dome-shaped they say. With slim slender arms.

the Flying Spaghetti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster) Monster with a spaghetti bowl on it's head crawling round creating the world....
I just had to try this out. As you say it is a nice idea.
The speed of the service was far better than I had hoped for, around 3Mb/s up and down.
Guess that for not so wery important data this could work
This is Emperor Ming from the planet Mongo. I have dropped of the 3 metric tons, now where is my 300?

You could also try to cover your monitor with some kind of filter. Perhaps some thin fabric?
Finaly I can look forward to Johnny Mnemonic 2. Only this time he stores the information in his nails.

Back in the 1940's one petabyte would have weigh a whole lot more. Those Delay line memories consisting of tubes filled with mercury seems a bit...bulky.
