Since it is good for Linux, why can't we have two pronunciations ?
I keep says Why instead of Wee.
Nintendo Why sounds okay to me..
Just like I say Liinux, and everyone else says Leenux.. Why is the way to go..
And the animated i's are cool.. lots of great ad's for them..
And my last point. It is just a NAME!! We will get used to it and it does make the damnest bit of differnece to how much fun the final system and games are..
Cannot wait for Sadness and Red steel. And will buy the nintendo launch games tooo..
These debates, reports and research are really missing the point.
We know something is going on, a lot of the evidence suggests carbon dioxide is responsible.
Even if it not the main culpret it is mostly likey having an effect and most importantly it is one of the few things we can change.
We cannot change the output of the sun. So lets stop dicking around and do something before it is too late. We might have a measurable effect on what happens in the next 50-100 years.
BTW I live in Ireland and it is already cold and miserable enough here without the gulf stream shutting down..
I like this mission, the sketch of the technology to be used sounds good. Soild.
It sounds like they have put some good thought into this, it is alot better than the current scrappy shuttle.
I'm excited about a permanment moon base, but I hope i cannot see it from here. I do not want the moons view to be polluted.
I always remember from first contact Riker comments to Zefrem Cochrane that the moon in the 24th century looks very different - it has 50 million inhabitants, and from Earth, you can see the lights of "Tycho City, New Berlin - even Lake Armstrong..."
I use unbuntu and it has just all come together for this dist. The software is top notch, the gnome desktop is a pleasure and the community support is outstanding.
Everytime I have had a problem I have been able to find the answer in minutes.
It is the best and it looks like it has a bright future.
You have to have respect for a company that takes chances and really does love what they do. I get that vib from nintendo and will continue to support them.
I think it would take a little time to get to grips with this controller but it will make for games that have far more depth, the developer are only limited by their imagination. But it looks like there will be a learning curve for each game..
All the games might have to have video of someone using the controller, trying to describe it in a manual will be next to useless.
I would not dismiss the hard rock model of comets from the release. There was a many contradictory mumbles comming from the deep impact team for a long time.
Others watching the impact came to some different conclusions. Looks like the data may have been "interpeted" to continue the dirty snowball model.
To be honest I do not think they have proven their point, there is still strong evidence that comets and asteriods are the same objects. Which raises some interesting questions about how they were formed.
I will never buy steam enabled product or anything like it. It doesnt stop copyright infringement and it just causes hassle.
In fact i would have bought HL2 new. But now I may just pick up a second hand copy and crack it. I only want the single player game anyway.
For people who say "whats the problem i use it and it is fine", cool use it, but respect the fact that there are ideological problems with it and some people will not deal with it.

Google does not tell Firefox it has a feed, here is how to add it (ripped from the mozilla site):
Some sites don't tell Firefox that they support Live Bookmarks, even though they actually do. If you know the URL of a site's RSS feed (url ends with.rdf or.xml), you can manually create a Live Bookmark for the site. Go to the Bookmarks menu and select 'Manage Bookmarks'. Under the 'File Menu', select 'New Live Bookmark'. Create a name for the Live Bookmark and add the URL. New articles from that site will appear as Live Bookmarks in Firefox.
" If history of technology has shown us anything, in a two horse race the cheapest normally wins unless their is a VERY good reason for it not to.
This might be one of those cases; HD-DVD seems perfectly capable as a higher capacity DVD; why would people want to pay a premium for a few more features about 10% higher quality?"
Histroically it is the format that the porn industry chooses.
But in this case the clear winner is Blue-Ray, becuase of the PS3. Why would the indsutry choose anything else once there is that many players out there???
So from reading this it looks like that the Revolution will not be compatible with the WiFi net I have already in the the house.
What is the point of that?? I now have to turn on a PC with a USB dongle on it to connect to the internet. I hate wasting power. Why not realse one with CAT5 so i could hook it up to my current WiFI BB modem/router??????
I was getting excited about these, I hope I am missing something here.
""" B) is foolish in the extreme. I had a coworker who, at one point, stated that she felt ALL war was wrong, and there was no point at which it would be justified to fight a war. This is foolish. At some point (and what point that is is debatable) there comes a time where if you do not fight, you allow innocent civilians to be slaughtered by an enemy who will torture and rape and abuse,"""
While I agree with you, your mindset and mine are alike. I have a great respect for people who can remain pacifist in the face of rape, torture and death. They have an ideal and who am I to say it is wrong. It is definately not foolish, it is easy to construct an aguement that it is the most sensible course of action.
Maybe in the next life they will be rewarded. Who knows!
Opps, add one to every year, so Christmas 07 becomes Christmas 08
Here are some of my predictions, some of the figures might be off I havent bothered looking too much:
- Wii will sell out at launch in every region. Two to three million units worldwide.*
- Nin will up production for christmas 06 and sell another three to four million units world wide.*
- After Christmas 07 they will have 17 million units sold and number one market share.
- Developers are not ready for the rush and there is a dry spell of titles come summer 06.
- Tons of great titles for Christmas 07..Wiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
* If they launch worldwide in Oct-Nov
They has better launch in Europe before Christmas.....

I think that if the Wine Version 1.0 release is stable and a nice release there will be some good feedback from linux aware companies.
And I think we might start seeing feedback from companies with instructions and support for running their applications on Wine v1.0.
Once there is enough interest in the products on Linux I think you will see more being ported.
At the moment it can be a pain to get things running in linux from some companies even if they have a linux binary.
Try getting the new Deluxe version of Neverwinter Nights installed/running in linux. I just gave up and went back to dual booting..

I just bougth X2 for windows 3 weeks ago.
I have been playing it and it is totall cool. But i was hoping that X2 would have our universe with the solar systems that I know now.
Still it is a cracker of the game.. Very open ended. There are a few niggly bits.
I would like to compare the windows and Linux versions. It would be interesting.
All the best. I hope X3 comes out on linux..

If I was a type 3 player in this universe and wanted to make my presense known maybe I would place stars in unusual places.
Eventually other would figure it out and maybe there is a message to decode.
They should look for mathematical alighnments in the stars to see if they are unnatually positioned.
Would be pretty cool.

What makes you think that this is not already being done. For both Good and Evil.
If there were groups with the knownledge and resources to produce and control hurricanes why tell everyone else. You now have the big stick of all.
There have been reports that the russkies developed some weather tech during the cold war (and beyond)..
What if Katrina was deliberate???

Thank You!!
That is the perfect answer.
Some Gobsheen: If you haven't done anything wrong, what do you have to hide?
Me: Because having something to hide is not the only reason to be hiding something.
That will totally confuse them. They will be thinking about that for hours. Seriously I am going to use it. It is the perfect answer.

Hopefully this falls flat.
I wonder where the server are locations
