We use nothing but pirated software. Because our financial analysts found out that by doing so, we are actually attacking our competitions and also saving spendings on softwares. It's a total win-win strategy.
"One of the biggest complaints about Linux®, particularly from developers, is the speed with which Linux boots."
Not sure where the author got that from. Mine boots less than 30 secs into X window (WindowMaker). That's much faster than windows and/or mac. Using KDE or Gnome will probably add around 20 secs. But still under 1 min.
Wikipedia should be the one stop reference for undergrad level education. That way, students don't have to pay for expensive dead tree books that they rarely open.
I want a job posting site where I can pick up a girl, buy stuff, bid on ebay, read latest news, watch stupid but funny videos, play flash games, check my email, and do other stuff that makes me forget that I need to get a job.
I don't like these IBM's online documents.
They are just rewrite of already known techniques, technologies..etc.
I'm sure IBM's documenting these to use them in the court in case of a lawsuit..Maybe not. I don't work for IBM. And corporations suck because they don't benefit humankinds.
There are many distros that already have these Audio/Video..etc packages in their repository.
Unless a distro includes really difficult to find packages pre installed, the only thing good about this kind of distribution is that it works out of the box without having to go to the repository and install packages needed, which is very easy.
But maybe it's not about packages..If a distribution has working out of the box 3d acceleration, optimized Jack, distributed rendering stuff..it'd be cool.

This company already fought against MS Office back in late 90's with their own korean word processor. Now they became a linux company..I think they should fight against MS again.
