If this were true, wouldn't it just make sense for all rape victims to immediately commit suicide? I mean, if any suffering is worse than death, a person could reduce their suffering by committing suicide. I'm not saying that rape isn't incredibly heinous and destructive to people's lives, but you seem to be asserting that life is not worth living if one has been raped, which seems a bit ridiculous in most cases.

Is shielding teens from sexual content in the media going to help at all? The repressive sort of atmosphere under which sex is considered worse than violence is going to lead to a lot more teen pregnancy than any video game. Why doesn't western Europe have a bigger teen pregnancy problem than the U.S. when they're open about sex?

Usually when I peddle something, I try to get it to other people. As opposed to, say, taking steps to prevent people from getting it. I shouldn't own any illegal firearms, but if somebody breaks into my home and steals them from me, does that make me an illegal weapons dealer because I should have put stronger locks on my doors? Rockstar at least tried to BS their way out of this. The House is blatantly lying.

Do you believe in gravity? The theories of gravity and of evolution are more similar than you might think. We know, for example, that gravity exists. Drop something. It falls. We also know for a fact that evolution exists. It has been directly observed. The original Newtonian conception of gravity, was basically correct but too simplistic, somewhat like Darwinian gradualism. Obviously we must make inferences to try to understand the history of evolution. But we have several demonstrated mechanisms by which evolution occurs. Yet the force particle for gravity has never been observed. Even though we still have much to learn about evolution, there are not any fundamental problems with our understanding, unlike gravity which currently cannot even be reconciled with quantum mechanics.

I must admit, I've made some assumptions. I've assumed that reality exists, that we exist in reality, and that we can observe reality. These are pretty big assumptions perhaps, but if you disagree you really have more important things to worry about than posting on /.

Because people ignorant of Latin grammar believed that "virii" must be the plural form of virus. For the record, as virus is a fourth declension noun, the plural would simply be "virus" with a long "u" sound (but of course it is simply "viruses" in English). However, "virii" eventually became general slang many people chose to use even though they were aware of its incorrectness (sort of like "pwn"). Sure, it's a little silly, but frankly so is the word "spam."

Halo 2 uses predictive netcode, as does basically every other internet FPS today. It also uses things like simplified physics and event priority to ensure that the game is as playable as possible. Lag is lag, but in most games, you can at least aim directly at your target. The problem is that Halo 1 was never written with internet games in mind.

Photon infringers make such a loud point about theft being an inaccurate term not because they are truly concerned with correct use of language, but because they want to justify their own photon infringement.
