The issue with almost all PC hardware is that it is overpowered by a sort of "mechwarrior" sensibility.
That description makes me think of bookshelf stereo systems made by Aiwa. All silver and full of funky pods and grilles with a disco floor LCD display that constantly blinks.
Emergencies? Keep a bottle of No-Doz in the car if you're sleep deprived. I can't think of any kind of coffee related emergency that would push me to drink the equivalent of hot ballsac sweat.
One major advantage of LCD over CRT is the lack of glare, which is a major contributor to eye strain.
Also, they emit less low frequency electromagnetic emissions, which, according only to the state of California, is likely to cause some random disease sometime in the unknown future.
Do you mean hurling as in throwing, or hurling as in throwing up?
I can't imagine wanting to taste fruitcake twice, so I'll assume you meant the former.
If a graphics card could use system ram *and do it well*, then I wouldn't mind, as long as the card was cheaper because of it.
I'd gladly pay for another 512mb of system ram in a new machine if I knew that the video card would make efficient use of it. Especially if that meant a price drop in video cards, which would allow me to upgrade more often.
I guess that all hinges on whether the performance is good enough, and how much card prices would drop by not having memory on the card.
Is it newsworthy? Well maybe not for the nerdy slashdot masses, but I found the article useful.
My girlfriend is doing her student teaching in a small middle level (grades 6-8) school with a very limited budget.
All of the students are given iBooks to use in and out of class, and they were looking at buying licenses for MS Office for all of these computers. I've been trying to get my girlfriend to bring up OpenOffice as an alternative, and this article stresses some important points that may grab the attention of those in charge of deciding what gets installed on these laptops.
I'm guessing the Mozilla Calendar isn't what you're looking for? I don't know what kind of integration you need, but it meets my needs, which I admit are pretty basic as far as a scheduling program goes.
I've run into a lot of people installing spyware by going to free wallpaper / free screen savers websites.
More and more of these sites don't offer a.ZIP to download, but an EXE to install the wallpaper along with New.NET or something similar. ThemeXP.org is doing it now.
As for my favorite? Hard to say. I didn't like many of their new games.. but they had quite a few arcade and NES games I liked playing back in the day. Tiger Heli for the NES, Airwolf, and the Simpsons games were done by Acclaim, although I thought they were friggen hard.
Oh, and let us not forget Mary-Kate And Ashley: Magical Mystery Mall for the PlayStation.
I don't care who developed the game. I don't have any brand loyalty here, I like to play what I think is fun.
Playing HLDM with friends is the most fun I've had with a FPS. I'm not even sure what exactly made it so fun for me, I just enjoyed it more than any of the others. I haven't played HL2DM yet, but if it's anywhere near as fun as the first one, I'll enjoy it.
I wouldn't care if it didn't ship with ANY maps. It's nice to have a single official Half-Life deathmatch rather than a dozen un-official mods floating around that wouldn't be compatible with eachother.
Not only that, but the community can but more energy into creating content for HL2DM rather than creating the mod itself.

Wow, you're dating a werewolf?
Naw, but she's almost as hairy
Here's hoping it's a Newton week.

And it'll be called ASIMO TypeR, with such dealer options as:

Thunderbird has this feature as well.

Thanks for the link! I had no idea there was that much of a story behind the Faaip de Oiad track.
The actual problem with the original Wonka Bar was that it melted while it was on the store shelves, and it had to be recalled.
(they talk about this in the special features portion of the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory DVD)
Fiction, maybe... but science?
I'll also say that I'm not really clear on the differences between Sunbird and the Calendar component.. Would someone care to elaborate?

Yottabytes? That's nothin.. what about the googlebyte 10^100 and the googleplexbyte (10^100)^100 :P
That's true, it didn't end, but then again I liked Duck Hunt too.
Maybe my attention span is broken.
Although it would be interesting to see it go the other way..
An open source spyware removal utility that has the ability to utilize the definition files from multiple closed source programs...
(if that were legal, I mean)

I don't like team based games. Maybe it's because I don't have any friends.

And some people (like myself) just do it for fun, but a cash prize would be a bonus.
That super gravity gun thing at the end of the game was bad ass.
