The air can hold only a certain amount of water vapour before it condenses. Since there are already huge amounts of water in the atmosphere I wouldn't be too worried about that. After all, when there's too much water in the atmosphere it tends to fall back to the ground.
It's not his job to spread misinformation. Most people don't know what the hell "ELOTH:TES" is supposed to be so all we know is what's written in those articles he linked. I thought it was related to The Elder Scrolls (because of the TES bit).
Work usually refers to the specific product (e.g. a mickey mouse short) while IP often refers to the entire "world" depicted in it and other works (e.g. mickey mouse himself). If you prefer, we can call it "franchise".
The form factor is different. A GBA is the wrong shape to be a cell phone, a cell phone is the wrong shape to be a game machine. Cellphones need numpads, game systems need directional controls, a few face buttons and shoulder buttons. The buttons on most cellphones have a resistance that is completely inadequate for gaming. A GBA with added cellphone capabilities would be an awful cellphone (because numbers aren't easy to input).
I voted never because the XBox was meant for a demographic that doesn't include me and so far I don't see the 360 change that. I mean, the big launch titles are racing games! I still have my fill of racing games for the decade from Burnout 2.
CPL: "Hey, Doom! Everyone will want to play that! How about some sponsorship, iD?" ID: "We're not giving you money to play our game." CPL: "Oh... Uh..." DREAMCATCHER: "Hey, we got this cool game, 'Painkiller' and here's your donation!" CPL: "Ladies, we have a new official game!"
The server won't even respond to me, "Sending Request" is all it says. Perhaps they don't allow people from certain IP blocks or countries to access their site.
How useful are numbers really? I mean, if you know you have "163 strength", what does that mean? Only people who look up the calculations involved know what that means anyway (except the "more is better" bit, obviously). Many console Rail Playing Games have numbers for everything but they are almost meaningless because you don't know what they mean. What happens when your magic defense goes from 30 to 35? Is that linear, logarythmic, is it subtracted from another number, what? D&D games often hand you the ruleset at least.
I was in the open beta, you're not missing anything. The game is 10% fighting and 90% waiting for your HP/MP to regenerate. I've met one person who enjoyed it, he played on a third party server that gives 12x experience for all kills. It's one huge grindfest and from what I've read plagued with farmers everywhere nowadays.
There's no point in slashvertising your site if it can never withstand a slashdotting. Seriously, I haven't gotten a single article of theirs that was advertised here to load. Ever.
I don't know but I haven't seen it lately (at least not singleplayer). IMO the genre is dead, noone can come up with anything new for it anymore and I should really stop myself from buying an FPS just because everyone on the internet is raving about it, got burned on Doom 3, Half-Life 2 and FEAR lately, Doom 3 was the only one of them that I actually finished, the other ones I stopped playing after two or three "chapters" because they became so boring. Don't ask me why I managed to slug through Doom 3 but I think the gameplay may have been more fun (turning up the brightness works pretty well, I never needed the flashlight in combat). Multiplayer was unbalanced and very flawed, FEAR was the worst of the bunch since you'd drop dead all the time without even seeing the enemy and often you get killed after spawning by the guy who just spawned behind you. They're only worth it for the mods and UT2004 would have been enough for that.
The SDK itself isn't great, it bites for modelers who'd like to use free software since the exporters are only available for the newest MAX and Maya versions (expensive) and it doesn't come with format documentation so us Blender users are left out. I hope someone reverse engineers the format, so far only Doom 3 has any plugins for Blender (and those are usermade).
Games don't train people to be better killers, if it was the army wouldn't waste so much money using real ammo for traing soldiers.
In less well-funded armies you don't get live ammunition for targeting practice because that's too expensive, you only get the simulator (with two or three live-ammo exercises thrown in).
Can't say I liked it either but that was because I didn't expect it to be a stealth game. Even at normal difficulty it's impossible to do anything but sneak. Well, at least for the first mission, which was the last one I played. The training mission was already more than enough stealth for my tastes so the first real mission really overstayed its welcome and there's no way I'll put up with even more of that painful gameplay. I avoid stealth games where possible but that game didn't say anything about being a stealth game on the back of the box.
I don't like it. Sure, the goal of cutting the publishers from the picture is admirable but Steam is a rather bad implementation of the concept (which, going by the history of the tech market, will be why it'll become the leading format and encumber future generations). Especially the online-only idea is a big problem. Sure, I have online. I had online in my student home, too. Problem was that online didn't leave Steam through. So during that entire time my copy of Half-Life 2 was completely worthless. I'd have been really angry had I bought it while living there since authentication is something that usually works over HTTP or email.
There are other problems like that enforcing latest patch stuff that prevents you from reverting to an earlier version if the newer one causes issues (let's say a crash bug related to youer specific videocard or something) and the plain fact that the warezers still get the game in a better version. Or the requirement of a credit card or involving a trustunworthy company like Pay (Up,) Pal.
Overall I'd hate it if this trend becomes more prevalent and soon half of the worthwhile games are only available through Steam.
The DS is a bit above the N64, which is still nowhere close to the DC. The DC was pretty close to the PS2, the DS clearly isn't. I'd say the PSP is more like the DC than the DS is.
Legend of Zelda is a bad example, that's actually quite fun at first even to a modern gamer. Try Metroid if you really want to piss 'em off. I'm glad that piece of junk was a free extra in Zero Mission.
I actually prefer the combat scenes from Equilibrium but the storyline was such an obvious rip-off-and-mix that it only qualifies for action movie, not dystopia.
I've seen it but it's not the only thing that can do these graphics and it's certainly not a huge step above the previous versions (a few effects and features added but mostly the same).
And it doesn't apply to this.
Isn't there legal insurance in the Netherlands?

Cannonballs tend to permanently deform the floor they are dropped onto so the common association with them is not exactly "bouncy".

How many fingers does your hand have exactly? 18?
Five? You can count up to 31 with five fingers.

From the announcements it went more like:
CPL: "Hey, Doom! Everyone will want to play that! How about some sponsorship, iD?"

DREAMCATCHER: "Hey, we got this cool game, 'Painkiller' and here's your donation!"

Huh? When did your NES games make you sign a license agreement?

Unfortunately that "Basic" XBox Live doesn't include playing games online.
