There are preview dvds for Steamboy at Suncoast, Media Play and Sam Goody. The catch is that you have to purchase an anime title to recieve the preview dvd.
I believe it runs about 26 mins or so. I was interested in picking it up but can't bring myself to paying their outragous prices.
What would be the point of using the DS chipset if you're going to rape it's "features". Is that just to be able to watch the DS games with almost no form of interaction?
I know some DS games hardly use the touchscreen for any real purposes but making the new Gameboy have the same chipset for backwards compatibility sake and NOT having any of the actual inputs seems like business suicide.
I would like the next Gameboy to have a wide touchscreen. Emulating the DS wouldn't be too hard since the widescreen should facilitate the combined resolution of both DS screens.
From the article: "[Downloaded] demos will remain on the DS units 'until power is turned off.' The one exception is some additional music for Jam with the Band. 'After turning off power, the [Jam with the Band] data remains,'"
I wonder if the music for Jam with the Band (or Band Brothers) is just unlocked from the cartridge, and there is no new content from the demo.
I agree with most of your points, however, I wouldn't bash Spielberg's adaptation of War of the Worlds just yet.
Atleast wait to see it before you do.
I'm very happy for Brad Bird, I really don't think The Iron Giant got as much recognition as it should have. It's definately one of the better efforts put forth from an American Animation studio in a very long time.
I'll have to read up on your second point, but here is information taken directly from the Hymn site:
The "Big Secret" you need to know
For various philosophical and quasi-legal reasons, JHymn, right "out of the box" so to speak, does not strip your Apple ID or the copyright information contained within the files from which DRM is removed. Leaving this information in your files, however, is a dead giveaway that those files once lived a life as DRM-protected files. We know after what happened when iTunes 4.6 came out that such vulnerabilities can, and probably will, be exploited.
You have to make the decision yourself, as the user of JHymn, to remove either or both of these items by going into JHymn's Preference settings (In the JHymn menu on OS X, in the Edit menu on Windows) and telling JHymn to delete the Unwanted atoms associated with these items. Doing so looks something like this:
Off the top of my head
In the tradition of their new Outrun game they could bring out updated classics like Afterburner, Streets of Rage, Altered Beast.
They have plenty of life left in most of their current franchises: Shenmue has a big following, The Virtua Fighter series, Sonic, Phantasy Star and possibly Virtua Tennis (I don't think Visual Concepts developed that).
Their arcade division still has House of the Dead, Initial D, Daytona and Virtua Cop.
Plus they used to bring out quirky games such as Feel the Magic, Super Monkey Ball, Samba De Amigo, and Rez.
Plus any others that I'm sure I missed.

www.gaming-age.com is a great resource (IMHO), the content on the message boards vary from very useful and insightful information/reviews to borderline trolling though.
1. Merge with well respected company with original content.
2. Destroy all original content and replace with mindless crap.
3. Disassociate yourself with merged company.
4. Profit??
I really miss the Tech TV of old. I was very suprised to see what G4 did to the Screensavers and all the other programming on the network.
So what exactly was the point with merging with Tech TV in the first place? Was it just to gut it from within?
There has been some word, atleast they changed the title which, to me, shows that nintendo is a little bit interested about bringing the title over.
From the article:
"In the shadows of launch titles like Super Mario 64 DS, Feel the Magic XY/XX and Wario Ware Touched! is Daigasso! Band Brothers (the working title is Jam with the Band in America).

Though Nintendo of America has given this game a new moniker as Jam With the Band, the company hasn't given a potential release date for the title. But even in its confusing, very Japanese-heavy interface, the game is very easy and fun to get into, and it's a fantastic example of the wireless capabilities of the Nintendo DS. We hope that Nintendo brings this puppy (or rather, bat) stateside.
I wouldn't call Feel the Magic a dating sim per se, but more of a standard, you're the hero - get the girl by playing a bunch of mini games.
I think it's more along the lines of the Wario mini games with a lose plot than anything.
Here are some recent 'concerts' of people using the game. It looks very interesting, IGN has a few videos of what the screen looks like during gameplay. I can't wait for it to be released over here.
I'm not so sure about that as they are part of the group that is fighting for TC.

1. What is TC - this `trusted computing' business?
The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is an alliance of Microsoft, Intel, IBM, HP and AMD which promotes a standard for a `more secure' PC.
Why would you need a modchip, many sony execs have stated that the games will be region free, or to clarify; they (sony) will not impose any region lockout, it will be up to the developers.
GS: Why did you choose to make the system region-free for games?
MC: Technically, the PSP does have a region mechanism in it, but, for now we decided to have all region discs work on all systems. This is because people who travel around the world may want to pick up games in different territories. However, each game will only be tested for that specific region and the hardware available in that market, so, technically, not every game may work.
Where are you getting your information from? The PSP does not have as short of a battery life as you claim. It may not come close to the SP's 11 hours worth of play, but it is reported to be variable between 3~7 depending on the task. This value is close to the DS' 7-9 hour play time but it is no where near an hour and a half as you stated.
Try Astroboy for the GBA and tell me it's not the same Treasure we all know.
Ken Katuragi, is that you? :)
2.2 Billion years in the making, a day or two for duping.
Wow. You must have a lot of enemies.
So you want Optimus Prime to save the day by running in slow motion while waving the American Flag?
come to think of it... that might be funny to watch on Robot Chicken.
I would have done it too if the Creep was this sexy thing.
Not sure why this was modded as troll.
I found it slightly amusing... but I haven't had my coffee yet.

Yeah, the line blurs for me too... but I only play the Leisure Suit Larry games
This coupled with reading slashdot explain a lot.
