  2. Sony made the PSP too much like a home console on Is There Anything Wrong With The PSP? · · Score: 1

While I wouldnt say the PSP is a failure. Its actually done much better than other portable systems competing against Nintendo. However, Sony totally ignored what made the Nintendo portables such a success and tried to give the home console experience on the road. That does not work very well in the portable world. When your on the road and want to play a game, you need to be able to get to actual gameplay very quickly. You also need a good library of games that give can be played in short bursts. Battery life is also important if you're going to be without a power supply for several hours. This is something that Sony ignore with the PSP.

  11. NBA Jam on SNES and Genesis on Two-Player Games for Mixed Skill Level Players? · · Score: 1

If you have access to emulators then bring up NBA Jam for either the SNES or the Sega Genesis. Turn on "computer assistance" (I think that's what its called) in the options. What this does is basically make sure the one player doesnt lead by too much. I pretty much keeps the score close throughout the entire game.

Also Sega Rally Championship on the Sega Saturn had a similar option the would speed up the losing player if he is too far behind. Kept the race competitive even if one player was far more skilled.

Yeah but the Xbox 360 also has the difficult task of emulating a different graphics chipset. If Nintendo wants to keep costs down and compatibility up then the Revolution graphics chip must be based on the gamecube's. Microsoft had no choice but to use a software solution since they did not own the rights to the Xbox graphics chip. Adding the xbox graphics hardware to the 360 would make the system even more expensive. Nintendo is still working with ATI so they wont have the legal issues that Microsoft had with Nvidia.

The Revolution has to have hardware that's similar to the gamecube. I don't think nintendo is going to go the software route when it comes to emulating the gamecube, or else they'll have the exact same problems that microsoft is having with their emulation.

The font hacks and savegame buffer overflow hacks WON'T allow you to run homebrew. You still HAVE to sign the executable in order for it to run on an unmodded Xbox. There is a key that is publicly available that will allow you to sign it and have the xbox accept it. If you had a modchip then you don't have to sign it. From this, it seems possible that if you have access to pressing your own commercial DVD's or CD's then you can make a disc without microsoft's permission that will work on any Xbox modded or not. However that most likely wont protect you from Microsofts lawyers.
