There is a whole sector of small business, esp Manufacturing, that MS is totally forgetting about. Can you imagine having your airplane parts being designed and produced by machines that were forced to be connected to the Internet at all times?
I just can't believe that Investors are so greedy that they can't see the implications of where they are trying to push the market to go. I can't believe companies are chasing so hard after the 'faceville' crowd, that they are forgetting that there are still manufacturing companies still here in the US that depend on having reliable products that can't necessarily be 'always online'.
Between this and HP getting out of the PC business, I'm ready to throw in the towel. Screw you greedy bastages, I'm going home.
heh. I can totally see the hookups in THOSE types of stalls....maybe not quite 'mile high club' worthy....but still an interesting hookup. Wonder what the tapes from those security cameras would look like?
The Scryers. Our community has always been slow progression, and even tho there are so many different guilds, there are a lot of collaboration between guilds. Infinite Asylum and Excessus both got together to do a fund raiser for a member of IA that lost a family member suddenly. Excessus has done several Red Cross donation events.
We have done some fun World PvP with Promade. A bunch of people got together to do 25 man Ulduar for the drake achievements, which was a huge deal for us. Other servers can just toss out a 'LFM', but on our server, it's a very creative process to get people to go do things. In the end, however, it ends up being a ton of fun, friends are made, and true community spirit is alive and well.
Please note, progression is minimal. Expect to see mages with agility enchants, hunters with spirit gear, and pally tanks wearing leather. Don't set your hopes up on 'making it the best possible server ever', as the community will eat you alive. We have had several 25 man progression guilds transfer in to get the realm firsts, only to be endlessly mocked until they transfer back off. This server eats hard core progression guilds like a fat kid with candy.
But if you are looking for a change of pace, and a chance to feel part of the community, stop on by! Don't forget to bring Thunderfury
Then you should come to our server! We are pretty much nothing but a server of socializers! Sure, there is some of the normal trade chat stuff, but our server is probably one of the last 'social community' servers. We have political discussions, class discussions, religious discussions....you name it, we discuss it...for the most part without trolling, in trade.
We are that one waaaayyyy at the bottom of the list on WoWProgress...yea, that very last one....That's us. We have fun. It's like being in 'Cheers' every time you log in. Most people in Stormwind are in their RP gear, with the newest acquired mount/pet/funTrinket, chatting up a storm. We even have a Museum of Traveling Debris!
Sure we are a lot slower on progression, heck, we don't even have a single 25 man kill on any Firelands boss, but everybody knows your name.....and you know who you can turn to in order to finish filling up that last raid spot.
Being a Wrath Baby, I was very frustrated with healing, and still do get frustrated from time to time. I think their 'loss of subscribers' is more about losing the people that were the Wrath Babies, that enjoyed being able to log in for a short time, knock out some heroics for their badges, and still feel like they have a life while sporting decent gear. We lost our best healer and tank to a 4 hour Grim Batol at the beginning of Cata. Kinda sad that a heroic took longer than a scheduled raid.
I think the reason people aren't having fun is because there is no way to 'be a hero, save the day, pulling out under incredible odds', because the fights are so unforgiving. If a healer dies, it's a wipe, no if's, and's or but's. They nerfed innervate, didn't provide pots that give enough mana back, and frankly, it's almost not worth rezzing the healer because they won't have enough mana to finish the fight. Battle rez is being used more and more for nothing more than having someone alive after the wipe to mass rez.
As much as people are griping about the tanking change, it actually rescued some people that were getting ready to cancel their accounts. These are people that were main spec healing, hate the new model, rerolled a tank toon, and then was frustrated with how hard it was to keep aggro as the dps geared up. Something simple as detonating mushrooms was enough to pull a pack of lions off a fully T11 geared tank, even after waiting 10 sec for the tank to have aggro (and no, not talking about the jumping panthers...).
On a side note, for those that gripe about the BoA gear for leveling, try rerolling on a new server with no money and no BoA's. Trust me, it's a wonderful experience that you are missing out on. There is a ton of really awesome content out there, even if it's not 'end game'.
On a second side note, that 'Healers have to die' add on in PvP just pisses me off.
Well, then why didn't THEY get in on some of that at the beginning? I mean, it's like trying to prop up the MAFIAA with all this choking copyright stuff. There is nothing saying that AT&T couldn't have jumped in and offered any type of video streaming at a decent cost. They didn't want to, they didn't see far enough ahead to get a piece of the pie. Now they want to fuss and cry about it, and punish their customers.
Cry me a river. I'm tired of having to play the tap dance game because all these companies didn't get with the times. Didn't see far enough ahead to see what money could be made, and someone else made it....TOO BAD.
I'm a paying customer. I am willing pay for what is of value to me. Sometimes it feels like a dick is being shoved down my throat and I'm being pick pocketed at the same time. If this is how these companies are gonna start acting, none of ya'll are gonna get my money. Keep your crappy cell phone service, keep your stupid videos, and music. I'll spend my money on companies that know how to treat a customer right.
Total kick in the schlong to those of us who have been dedicated customers all these years. They want me to give my business back to cable, so be it. I'll take my $300 a month cell phone bill with me too.
Exactly. I kept waiting for the price to come down, because I just couldn't see myself paying for a gimpy netbook, when I could get a desktop PC, or a low end laptop for the prices they were charging. I actually feel the same way about tablets. I can't bring myself to pay $500-$800 for a tablet when I could get an 'ok' desktop for the same price, esp since I can get a smartphone for the price I am willing to pay (if I wait until my contract is up). I do find it annoying to lay in bed and attempt to watch Netflix on my smartphone, cause it keeps slipping off the pillow and under the blankets, which makes having a netbook desirable. If you can't give me a netbook price that is in the range of smartphone off contract, WTB device that will hold smartphone properly, without losing bars and making the streaming such crap, while falling asleep....but I digress....
I think I have heard more than one person say that they wish Airport Security Theater was back to the old profiling days......Makes me wonder, if you are at an airport in AZ, do you get profiled, and groped?
I reboot my phone every 3 days.....idk what is on it that eats up avail memory, but even killing processes doesn't help. Battery is drained after watching Netflix after a couple of hrs....it stopped hooking up to the wireless.....it pops up telling me invalid voicemail password even tho I have never entered a voicemail pw....apps will just close automatically without warning or touching....used to be able to just respring, but now it takes a full reboot to get it all working again.....(yes, I am still on 4.2)
I refuse to even purchase, pirate, listen to, consume, or otherwise view anything that is *IAA related. Screw those guys. I don't need their songs, movies, or other garbage that they think they can triple dip into. They just don't get it. I'm done with the extortion. Let them go extinct already.
I would have to disagree with 'not evolving here on earth' (since your sarc tag is missing)......Autism is the next step in evolution....just needs a few bugs to be worked out....which will happen naturally, over time.
The biggest issue I have is that my right pinky fingernail now grows at a slant. No joke, the longer it gets, the more pronounced the slant. This didn't start happening until I started playing WoW. I guess cause previous computer addictions were more keyboard related, than mouse related.
Agreed, if I feel my wrists start acting funny, I adjust.
Now if I could find an office chair that keeps my ass from hurting so much all the time. My butt bones are a constant source of pain for me. I did the cloth camping chair for a while, but those aren't made to withstand so many hours of use, and eventually break. After the 8th camping chair broke, I decided to go for an office chair. Still don't like it, and have to switch between a pillow, no pillow, a folded blanket....so go go...make me a cloth camping chair that won't break....
While I'm waiting for the raid to fill, or during breaks. No way a 1$ game is gonna replace my WoW.
However, the whole 'Faceville gaming' stuff will eventually end. Big Fish is shutting down one of it's Faceville games....which saddens me too, I had built up over 1Mil g and had spent a good $40 on playfunds...just for the game to disappear. As this happens to more people, the more they will stop getting hooked or spending money on them.
1$ apps are no different. Blip in the pan, and then it will be back to console/pc gaming.....where at least you know you can still play the game even after they quit selling and developing for it.
(I will mourn the loss when Blizzard does decide to shut down WoW....but man, I have a ton of frapps and screenshots to make up for it...)

Yea, I'm kinda not happy. 214 HP work stations. Now what?
Only more mounts/pets/gear sets/raids/cheezements.......by Malfurion, I hope I'm able to xfer those things over to the 'next Blizzard MMO'.
heh. I can totally see the hookups in THOSE types of stalls....maybe not quite 'mile high club' worthy....but still an interesting hookup. Wonder what the tapes from those security cameras would look like?

In my alts guild bank. Now everyone is gonna be in Un'goro with their bots....wait.....

But what Amazon doesn't do is provide Diet Mt. Dew at a reasonable price... http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=diet+mountain+dew&x=0&y=0 It's currently $5.99 at my local Harps for a case (24) 12oz cans. Why on earth would I pay Amazon 21$ for the same thing?

+1 - like - thumbs up - and w/e else to show approval.
I do not disagree...well, except for when he Rebecca Rolled me.......
Then please, don't browse the wow forums... *snicker* AFD on the web is akin to Super Bowl commercials...in my world....
:) I caught it. :)
I wanna hold you...till the fear in me....subsides.....

They are really, really, dumb. For real.
