    I think the biggest question is, what problem is this trying to solve? The problem of laziness. I would probably vote if it were as simple as a few clicks away. Having to get in my car and queue in line looses to my comfort, regardless of any patriotic pull.

    From what I've seen in the datacenter sector is growly rapidly. More and more data is being stored online in server farms. Online apps are more prevalent than ever (eg Gmail).

    With ever increasing network capacity data storage on the PC will become redundant.

    Ahh the Hitler argument and conspiracies theories. Well I prefer Occam's Razor and Darwin myself, just makes more sense. My moral and personal preference is an egalitarian approach, however at the end of the day hierarchies are natural and not that evil. Someone has to take charge, be responsible, you need a mix in a team, leaders, grunts, visonaries etc. We are not all made equal.

    labeling successful businessmen as psychopaths is a tad dramatic. Or is "guilty by association" an acceptable form of sentencing? If you want to make stupid analogies, cellbased economics work wonders for terrorists.

    You make an interesting point, though why is business dominated by the hierachial model? Is it perhaps the survival of the fittest amongst many models? Surely if a Cell-based structure was more efficient in the marketplace it would flourish and hence we would see evidence of it.

    As soon as I can afford the above I will be moving. Well said, there is an old lady in our block of flats that does nothing all day but find fault in everything. Bitter old people should be removed from society. Yes getting old sucks - deal with it don't make our lives a misery.

    She we should all be able to "get along" but to some people, that means unrelentingly getting everyone to conform to their lifestyle, or move out.

    Critical parts of the plane communicating wirelessly? Whats to stop a maniac spewing noise over the same frequency range causing it to crash? TFA just says "we working on it". AFAIK its physically not really possible to stop jamming even if multiple channels are used.

    Couldn agree more! The article is stupid and contrived. I can't believe it made it on to the front page. We will always be able to read old media in the future. Right now we can read punch cards and magnetic tapes etc.

    You actually made a far more interesting point. I too have debated for years whether to keep all my old emails and arb documents (10 yer old) if only for nostalgic value when I get old. This is a conscious decision (or lack of decision in the case of a backup strategy) on my part and not anything do with a "digital dark age".. gawd.
