Daimler bought Chrysler to become Daimler-Chrysler.
And the joke goes, How do you pronounce 'Daimler-Chrysler'? In the U.S. its "Day-m-ler Cry-s-ler", In Germany the Chysler part is silent.
However your argument falls apart on some levels. Toyota, Honda and Hyundai are all building automotive plants in Alabama USA. As usual the only that remains the same is change. Also not everything that is seen is real and not everything that is real is seen.
And as such I notice that these days its Northerners who are the most bigoted. Try to find a African-American between Tennessee and Ohio. Apparently they either kill them or run them out on a rail (but not a monorail).
Bam, theres your 26 dvd star wars collection. Theres 4 versions of each film, plus the original Christmas Special, and the 'enhanced' Christmas Special.(Nooooooooo)
Did anyone else notice on the SW:Ep3 extras, Rik McCullom even says, "When George is tinkering with the film again, I hope (my scene) gets put back in"? Man, even the producer knows George can't stop fiddling with it all. And its on the extras disk...hahahahahaha.
Noooooo.. bwahahahahaahaa... Star Wars makes me laugh.
Anybody got John Carpenters email, I want him to make a Bolo(Ogre) or Berserker film. "Yeah, anything but a direct hit might stun the crew, but their machine will still try to kill you." OGRE.
Yup, I can relate to this guys stories. But at least in 'the south' we didn't see too many foreigners. The first year chem and physics courses are weedout courses no doubt.
And yet, look at all the Indians and Asians who come here and pass those courses.
And I agree with parent here, from my view, US corps are ACTIVELY trying to get rid of engineers. They want to force low pay, long hours, no recognition, treatment as 'resources' and not a human being. At this company, it was the maverick runnings of 3 engineers, who despite managements repeated screwups pulls in $8 mill(US$) a quarter and growing. And still we are treated like crap.
I am hoping my kids will choose a medical or other professional field. Tho honestly, they could probably make even more money selling burglar alarms or cell phones.
Both admirable films, but you should read the books, they are far more entertaining.
This particularly, alas it appears out of print.
"Apollo: The Race to the Moon" by Charles Murray and Catherine Bly Cox. This is the most sought after history of Project Apollo. Particularly interesting because it focuses on the engineers and flight controllers of the program rather than the astronauts. The astronauts aren't ignored, but people like Gene Kranz, Glynn Lunney, Gerry Griffin, Chris Kraft, and Rocco Petrone are the stars.
Perhaps the most moving accounts of the Apollo 1 fire, the lunar landing of Apollo 11, and the Apollo 13 accident ever written. For example, if you want the inside story of how a young Guido named Steve Bales and a back-roomer Jack Garman correctly diagnosed multiple 1201 and 1202 alarms and saved Armstrong & Aldrin's lunar landing, the this is the book to read. Out of print.
Here we have Boeing and Lockheed. Everyone else has been purchased by one of these 2 mega-corps. The F-16 would not have occurred under these conditions. It seems as if the large corporations have done themselves in by 'purchasing' everyone and everything and placing them in a 'BOX'.
Innovation does not come from a BOX.
The Japanese buy most of their rocket stuff from us(USA).
I submit that the reason NASA got results 40 years ago was because they were 'doers' with a vision and a goal (a lifelong goal for Werner von Braun by the way), and that all these people were replaced by beaurocrats a long time ago.
There is a serious problem with the way America does business and NASA is a glaring iceberg tip for anyone who really wants to investigate it. Might make a good book.
I think you and Churchill underestimate the sin of Greed.
WW1 was not the first, nor would it have been the last war fought in Europe.
Please reread history and rethink the BIG PICTURE of human nature. We have not ended war by having 2 massive wars. We have simply changed the nature of it. The rich countries, USA, Europe, Russia, Japan, fight them with expensive pinpoint weapons. The poorer countries such as those in Africa do it the old fashioned way, with dumb bullets, and bayonet charges. The cruelty in poor wars is beyond belief. Yet, these are never reported to the civilised world. And you, who feels that America is a bully, have no knowledge or care of them, do you?
To quote an African soldier who machine gunned his enemy: "We kill them like sheep."
Yeah but you forgot the part where the 'someone' stole 4 wallets and a purse, and the crowd called the cops, but before they could get there, the 'someone' spit on the biggest, meanest LongShoreman around...
Iomega NEVER sold any media at anything near similar low cost. In fact their media was always a premium cost. I think they were just mad they never got in the champagne, er ink business.:^)
I can't believe you. You're saying that all these things are in short supply because of a US embargo. Yet the Cubans got several VERY EXPENSIVE missile systems didn't they?
Yet you want us to believe they can't get lightbulbs? That cubans are sooo stupid, they cant make a lightbulb?
I suggest Cuba doesn't have lightbulbs because Castro doesn't want them to have lightbulbs.
Wadda you think of that little piece of logic?
I say that the Cubans can make bulbs, but soon, about a week later, they'll figure out how to get along without Mr. Castro and his ilk. And Mr. Castro and pals would NOT like that very much.

No way, really???
Dam% some people are lucky,
Whenever I plug in my camera it just says "No Driver Found!"
Even after installing the driver, it says that.
Liar! Which one WAS sane????
That show needs to be renamed. I suggest:
Veggies vs Ted Nugent!
Misspelled 'Alabamians'.
And as such I notice that these days its Northerners who are the most bigoted. Try to find a African-American between Tennessee and Ohio. Apparently they either kill them or run them out on a rail (but not a monorail).
War Eagle!
Wait for it......

Yeah, and wheres every item ever published for Star Fleet Battles????
That'd add another 500lbs to the shipping...
Aw heck, btw, anyone got the original Star Fleet Battles pocket game?
What was that 1977???
Really.!
It appears to me they want the 'contest' to provide 'nearly polished' works in a ARTP(Almost Ready to Publish) format.
Gee, if I had that much time, and devoted that much energy, I would just publish it myself, DING!. Ever heard of the Internet guys?
WoC think they are Hasbro or something great. All they are doing are sitting on CopyRights of many hardworking previous authors.
Hey HASBRO, sell me all your Avalon Hill holdings for $1000. Damn, thats more than your making with them now ain't it???
Anyone up for some Tobruk or original Squad Leader?
Remember kids,
No matter where you go, there you are.
Amen brother.
I went to the site to look at that ugly monstrosity.
I agree with you.
How about a phone the size of a Ipod tiny, or whatever its called?
Better , a credit card sized phone that has great signal, 48hr standby, 3 hrs talk and a ubiquitous usb recharge so I can recharge from any pc?
And another clue, it doesn't even need a display you know.
I have a REX6000, a pcmcia size device, and I love it. A cell phone in that form factor would be awesome.
With the huge amount of $$$ M$ has I am very curious why they don't try their old standby...
subvert the market out from under the music labels.
M$ could support 100 times the number of indie artists, publish all their music ala mp3.com and CREATE a new music market.
The kewl part,
ROYALTIES to MS = $$$
ROYALTIES to RIAA = $0
Reminds me of when Cartman had Jennifer Lopez as his pal (and enemy)...
Yup, I can relate to this guys stories.

"At the end of it all they want to make it all work, it's just they are fumbling in the dark. Get too big and your quality goes to hell."
No way man!
CMM Level 3 and now CMMI means you have a QUALITY product no matter the size of management. Right?
I mean I have piles of documents to PROVE it.
Right???
I think I forgot to insert 'sarcasm mode=on' tag somewhere.

I'm not sure that helps at all.

Its called reaping the whirlwind.
"Cause and effect, my love."
Microsoft today changed thier tagline from:
"Where do you want to go today?"
to:
"How much money do you have to spend?"
Amen! True in every sense, being cognizant of portability is the mark of a true coder. So in conclusion, you can say that the RedHat coders suck.
I've known this for years, apparently many do not.
BTW if CowboyNeal KNOWS that bots are posting, why not filter them, instead of burdening us??? I hate this 'type 5 letters' nonsense.
And does a bot reply appear MORE coherant than the rantings of a real person???
"and at similarly low costs."
