What you are saying has some truth in it, but in england for little cost you get freeview (£40 box for digital video broadcasts) giving you 40 channels. ONLY THE INDEPENDANT CHANNELS HAVE ADVERTS None of the bbc channels have adverts. And color tv's have (generally) better sound than black and white.
In england their is a thing called freeview it is £50 a box [read $75] if America used it aswell it would only get cheaper and I would be able to build a freeview PVR.
BBC radio 4 is a (tax funded) radio station in england it uses television licesne money to support several tv and radio channels withoud ads you can listen fromm bbc.co.uk
Copy the data to the hdd "C:\Windows\Printers\Spool" to get passed software that deletes naughty files from the hdd. Or if its hardware copy it to a scratch disk. SHUTDOWN the pc boot up knoppix and copy.
I think the flag should stay as politics.slashdot.org is only an experiment and when it becomes a real part of slashdot then make it keep the blue and drop the flag (this needs to go under politics http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/09/07/17 18225&tid=123&tid=158&tid=103 ) File it as a bug
--** And in July, DoubleClick Inc.'s DNS (domain name system) was attacked and unable to serve ads for a similar time frame[several hours].**-- I know thats bad for them but we all HATE banner adverts. (and we all know our favourite sites NEED the money)
Exactly. Thats why Windows NT was seperate from Windows 9x. When they merged at XP the seperation of buisness and consumers was lost. You may say that home and pro keep them seperate but home is just a crippled version of pro.
A so-called 'open source' system which PC users can install on their machines and modify without paying a licence fee, Linux has made significant inroads into the software market in Latin America and Asia.
so-called 'open source' why is it only so-called this suggests that it may not be due to popular use of so-called and '' marks Linux IS open source and it will always be Open becuase it is GPL
oh and I'm not trolling but trying to make a point
in ie its awful with the blue logos and kiddie speak and in ff it looks good with tech speak oh and firefox rendered the page in 2 seconds flat and ie in a minute

Seriously why do that I want firefox to beat ie out of the box. Not after installing the help tabs etc.
What about claiming dmages for aggressive (and illegal) prosecution.
